My 8 died after the last update and 2 days later the battery expanded and split the phone in two. I ended up with the 11. I do like the size of the regular 8, the 11 is much larger.
I took my 8 to the Apple store a week later and got a brand new 8, only 64 gigs tho as they would not do a 128.
The 11 is ok but a few thing I don't like. It's bought and paid for tho so should be good for a few years now.
Wife is still on a 6s so may look into the 12 mini for her soon.

I’m using the original SE.
The dimensions of the 12 mini (the phone, not the screen) are almost the same as my SE in the Otterbox case, so when the SE in no longer on the iOS update list, I’ll get the 12 mini (iOS 14 is probably the last for the original SE)

Love the ad for the 12 mini: A phone that fits is the palm of your hand.
Imagine that, a phone that fits is the palm of your hand

I have a 7. It rings I answer if I choose to. I can call out if I choose to. All the phone I need. But because of planned obsolescence I someday will have to upgrade I hope. I hope only because I want to keep living. I hope my next phone rings and I can answer if I choose to and I hope I can call out if I choose to. That'll be all the phone I need.

A 7 is overkill then. Just get a flip phone.

I thinking of upgrading from my 8, but not keen on the whole 5G thing... Though i wonder if the radiation issues are from the cell towers, so does it not really matter what phone you have?

Shout out to Apple for the latest update, rendering my Iphone X slow...
Typing delays, etc. It's like they do this every new phone release. WTH?
That being said, I really like the Iphone 12 mini or the 12 Pro MAX

Don't know about T-moble. I have Verizon unlimited everything and it is pricey. The other 6 people in our small office have AT&T. Quite often they have to go outside to make a call and I do not. If T-Mobile is reliable, cheaper than Verizon and I can call INSIDE the office I would switch.

I want a 12 Pro because of the cameras. After cycling photography is what turns my wheels.

I heard 5G causes disease and pestilence

That mini looks big compared to my iphone 5.

Wish it had a headphone jack.

f1.6 made me rethink upgrading...dammit apple. I'd love to have the 5x zoom on the 12 pro and not the 12 pro max. The max is almost the size of my ipad mini.

I'm interested in the 12 mini. When wearing the small size Voler jerseys, the pockets are small and not very deep. I'm always worried the phone is going to fly out when I'm doing my version of a sprint to try and catch a stop light before it turns red. I'm using a 2020 SE at the moment but welcome a slightly smaller footprint.

It should be Lead Shield. It is an important issue, but SAR numbers are unknown to most consumers. My cousin has a recurring brain tumour, and I do sometimes wonder why.

I’m going to be ordering an iPhone12 Pro over the next month or so. I usually upgrade every other model. But this time, I’ve stayed with my iPhone X which I’ve been using for over 4 years while I’ve waited for 5g.

I just ordered a new Apple Watch though, and it’s one technology upgrade at a time. If anyone wants to purchase my stainless steel Apple Watch 4, which is in perfect shape, drop me a note.

Damn the telephoto lens is a good point. I might have to swing for the 12 Pro.

Then I won't need to carry a point and shoot ever.

T-Mobile

I switched our personal phones over to T-Mobile about a year ago.
Both, my wife and I have AT&T for our company phones so we have a direct comparison.
Overall, AT&T has better coverage and call quality in suburban Chicagoland.
Kind of feels like the differences in coverage and price are somewhat proportional.
Want to see how/whether 5G improves TM's coverage.

This is why I bought into the 11pro...no more point and shoot camera

I hung onto my 5 for so long the battery swelled and lifted the screen out of the case. in addition the ios no longer supported some basic apps I frequently use.

its taken me some time to get used to the larger size (in a speck case). I'd prefer something a bit smaller but now that I have would prioritize the three cameras over smaller size.
