Is it possible to lighten up Ultra-Shift clicks?

Having come from Shimano brifters, Campy 11 speed shifters definitely feel stiffer.

I know what the guts are inside the Campy levers and wonder if there's a way to lighten up the feel.

The left side has three of those EC-SR009 pieces. These look like springs to me. Wondering if you can lose one to lighten the tension.

The right side only uses two of the EC-SR009 so I'm not quite sure how to lighten up this side.

EC-RE017 and EC-RE018 as well as EC-SR013 and 14 are very different and I don't see any way to modify these parts.

Any ideas on how to soften the shifting?

Get some powershift shifters?

They are much lighter, kinda like shimano.

Yes, but you can't do the Campy dump.

Anything done to lighten the clicks may cause a failure to stay in the selected gear. When ultrashift first came out, complaints were the opposite. I took one apart and figured out that the shape of the detents was the cause of the light clicks. There's no practical way to change that.

Those with hand problems should consider sram axs.

You can try to remove one of those conical springy, slotted washers and then ensure the guts, the wee allen that holds it all together, front and back is TIGHT. But as has been mentioned..the idea is to have those teeny ball bearings sit tight in the disc 'notches'. For early 10s, they just made the notches deeper, more pronounced..Not really for 11s. 2009/10 first gen 11s was a bit softer, but not much..and that was essentially changed 10 years ago.

BTW-if you EVER loose one of those wee ball bearings..they are the same as higher end brake calipers that had 'sandwich' bearings in them..ask me how I know...

I love the positive clicks but as arthritis gets worse in my hands I now think I need electric shifting in the near future..........

First time I disassembled a right shifter, it was shock and horror when I realized the potential for losing a spring and bearing on EC-RE-017 combined with immense relief that it had not happened.
