It is a really strange option for d2r2 but I am betting there is also fantastic road rides up there

I last participated in 2015 doing the 160k (also did the 100k in 2014) and loved it. Actually thought 160k was easier and a lot more fun than the 100k route.
Both years, I used my road bike with 26mm gravel kings (28mm were sold out). Obviously had to dismount in maybe 1 or 2 sections on each one, but 26c was more than sufficient. Didn't flat both years.

Want to return again this year. Do they have same day registration? Don't really want to deal with mud and ****.

In before the earlybird rates go away. 115K - which is what I did in 2012, the only time I've ridden D2R2. Great reason to train!

I signed up for the new 160k route. Looking forward to it. Did the 180k in the rain last year as my first D2R2 and it was great.

I'm reminded to register by Monday. After three successive tandem years this year will be solo I think. 180, 160, one of the Mysteries- all up for consideration.

For the people who decide to camp out, has leaving your bike outside your car (obviously locked up) ever been an issue?

You'll find that everyone is looking out for each other at the campground. You can basically leave your bike wherever and it will be there when you decide to go back for it.

Should be fine, very safe event. There was some problems with stolen merch a couple of years ago but have not heard of stolen bikes. I have always left my bike wherever and was always back there waiting for me.

There are incredible bikes at d2r2 so I am always thinking, I doubt they will take mine over this firefly or - insert amazing ti or steel bioe here-

One day but not this year.

It is for sure on the bucket list, but this year New England is not in the books.

There are few reasons why I would miss a D2R2, but a cycling trip to the Icelandic highlands is the reason this year.
