Why I'll continue to buy 21mm tubs
Had to replace my rear tub due to a puncture. I typically run 21mm tubs on my SIX13. All I had left in the stock pile was 24mm tubs.
It'll work for now, but time to fill my cart with 3-4 21mm tubs. See pics below |

Am I the odd one out? That clearance looks fine to me. A wheel will flex horizontally but not vertically - I have run similar clearance for years without an issue.

Carbon parlee derailleur clamp will get you another couple of mm clearance.

Commute in this morning confirmed, out of the saddle, there is not quite enough clearence around that clamp, oh well.

I rode 21's exactly one time. Felt like I was riding pizza cutters and I pinch flatted 4x on one group ride. Was it a user error? Maybe....but I'm too big to b riding such skinny boi tires.
You probably have much of the global supply at your command....so hopefully the prices are super low!!

If I recall, those frames were made to fit 23mm tires. As you have a braze on FD adapter, I bet with a clamp on FD that you can go larger than 21mm.

Tufo tires. Haven't seen anyone choose to use those in 15+ years.

Roads in Grand Rapids must be much better than here. I’d be wrecking rims every week on 21’s.

I loved my Tufo Speedero on the gravel bike. Sadly killed the front one in a crash.

Garden hoses. I did like them for cyclocross because they are tough though, but mostly because I got them for free.

I love my Colnago C50, but I sure would like to run 28 - 30mm tires on it.

Riding Tufo Calibras 28s on 2 of bikes. Light and no issues.
