http://www.pinterest.com/cwestraat/headbadge/ - enjoy ... http://www.pinterest.com/pin/420594052670944265/ http://veloclassics.blogspot.com/201...-san-remo.html This is one of my current projects, a Falcon San Remo, designed by Ernie Clements. This one is a late 1960's bike, maybe 1967 or '68. Falcon had many variations on the San Remo, with little info on the 1960's models that I could find. This one is built with Reynolds 531, with Campagnolo dropouts, and came wearing Weinmann tubular rims laced to Campagnolo Record hubs, Cinelli stem and alloy Giro d' Italia handlebar, Campagnolo old-record derailleurs, Campagnolo Record bottom bracket, Campagnolo <c> headset, Weinmann Vanquer center pull brakes, Campagnolo 151bcd Record crankset, Campagnolo Record seatpost, and a Brooks Professional saddle. To me, this is a really beautiful frame, I love the Royal Blue against the classic powder blue accents, chrome Nervex head tube lugs, full wrap-over seat stays, chrome rear triangle, combined with the full-chrome sloping crown Cinelli-style fork. You gotta love that head badge. I will post the finished bike at a later date, but here is the frameset, ready to build up: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/420594052671024959/ http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/or...8dad88b19e.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/rohand/8691487751/ pardon alu' http://www.pinterest.com/pin/420594052671107824/ http://www.pinterest.com/pin/420594052670917746/ Barbary Tiercel / wikpedia The Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus), also known as the Peregrine,[2] and historically as the Duck Hawk in North America,[3] is a widespread bird of prey in the family Falconidae. A large, crow-sized falcon, it has a blue-grey back, barred white underparts, and a black head and "moustache". As is typical of bird-eating raptors, Peregrine Falcons are sexually dimorphic, females being considerably larger than males.[4][5] The Peregrine is renowned for its speed, reaching over 322 km/h (200 mph) during its characteristic hunting stoop (high speed dive),[6] making it the fastest member of the animal kingdom.[7][8] According to a National Geographic TV programme, the highest measured speed of a Peregrine Falcon is 389 km/h (242 mph).[9][10] The Peregrine's breeding range includes land regions from the Arctic tundra to the tropics. It can be found nearly everywhere on Earth, except extreme polar regions, very high mountains, and most tropical rainforests; the only major ice-free landmass from which it is entirely absent is New Zealand. This makes it the world's most widespread raptor[11] and one of the most widely found bird species. In fact, the only land-based bird species found over a larger geographic area is not always naturally occurring but one widely introduced by humans, the Rock Pigeon, which in turn now supports many Peregrine populations as a prey species. Both the English and scientific names of this species mean "wandering falcon", referring to the migratory habits of many northern populations. Experts recognize 17 to 19 subspecies which vary in appearance and range; there is disagreement over whether the distinctive Barbary Falcon is represented by two subspecies of Falco peregrinus, or is a separate species, F. pelegrinoides. While its diet consists almost exclusively of medium-sized birds, the Peregrine will occasionally hunt small mammals, small reptiles, or even insects. Reaching sexual maturity at one year, it mates for life and nests in a scrape, normally on cliff edges or, in recent times, on tall human-made structures.[12] The Peregrine Falcon became an endangered species in many areas because of the widespread use of certain pesticides, especially DDT. Since the ban on DDT from the early 1970s, populations have recovered, supported by large-scale protection of nesting places and releases to the wild.[13] Dove hawking with a / vimeo Tim Murphy 3D Artist 2012 / vimeo

redux' , maybe
Signore Santini surrounded by SMS jerseys in the Santini boardroom. Q) What inspired you to start Santini SMS way back in 1965 and did you ever think that all these years later your name would one of the most well known brands in cycling? A) My big passion for cycling was what lead me to converting the classic knitwear production that my sisters had for several years, into the sporting one manufacturing cycling clothes. When an entrepreneur starts his business, he has to trust in the future and also in the possibility to enlarge his project. Ultimately I didn't believe I would be able to go so far. Q) In the beginning did you make the clothing yourself and how did the company grow and develop to where it is today? A) As in every activity, the owner responsible must be able I think, to do everything, it is essential to be the head of his company. In the beginning I did every job, I stitched, cut, repaired the machines, took care of the costumers and the suppliers, I looked after the accounting, in time, with the growth of the factory i've brought together a dedicated and highly skilled group of employees. With them, I've always searched for the maximum cooperation between us, making them responsible in all areas and activities, whilst maintaining supervision Q) What is the biggest innovation currently in the cycle clothing industry? A) There have been a lot of innovations that over the years have contributed to the development of the cycling clothes. The more and more technologically advanced fabrics, the computerized machines for cutting, the graphics through the computers, the sublimatic print with the plotters. For us as well the continue research for the bibshort's padding has made us the leader with the patent of the silicon gel padding without stitching. Q) What is you proudest achievement in business? A) Being able to work in something I like, working in an environment that I like to know, having friendly relationships with cycling champions and seeing the Santini logo winning in the biggest world's races. Q) How important is team sponsorship to a company such as Santini? A) The sponsoring of the teams is important, because it promotes the image of the company. Also through the special and particular requests from the racers it helps us be able to develop and research in order to improve the products more and more. Q) How has sponsorship changed since the early days? A) The sponsoring has changed a lot from the first years of the activity until now, it’s a natural evolution as business has changed. In the first years the teams were satisfied with the essential things, now the investment of the sponsors is a lot higher, so the care of the image of the riders who promote their logos has to be the best. The stylistics of preparing the clothing, the most technologically advanced fabrics, the supply of an important variety of models, make it a sizeable investment for us. Q) Santini have a long running partnership with the Giro D'Italia, how important is that exposure to the company? A) For twelve years we have been the supplier, and the sponsor for the production of the leader jersey of "Giro d'Italia". Sponsoring the Giro is for us very important for a lot of reasons: i) because we are italian and it is for us a big honour having our logo on the pink jersey of the most important race in Italy. ii) because the Giro d'Italia is not only a sporting event, but also a national event that involves all the people. iii) Hundreds of hours of live broadcasts of one of the most incredible sporting events such as Giro d'Italia, are the best stage to exploit the image of our company. Q) Looking ahead to this years Giro, what are your thoughts on the race and who will pull on the Maglia Rosa when the race finishes? A) The Giro will be very interesting and the winner will be seen in the last very difficult week. Possible winners I think, Gilberto Simoni, Denis Menchov, Vincenzo Nibali, Andreas Kloden. http://www.italiaanseracefietsen.com/ pardon alu' staying dry on christmas / / vimeo / there seems to be a lot going on with this photo, yes' / pardon redux' http://www.italiaanseracefietsen.com...2/01_cover.jpg http://www.italiaanseracefietsen.com...7-13.22.34.jpg http://www.italiaanseracefietsen.com...7-13.01.22.jpg this will take you back / http://www.italiaanseracefietsen.com...belgie-2013-2/

This vintage Automoto Cycles poster was done in 1926 by Leonetto Cappiello. This is done in beautiful warm tones with the cyclist rides past his admirers, waving, as they throw roses at him. The french text reads, "son equipe boit du Byrrh," which translates, "his team drinks Byrrh." Cycles Automoto was a French maker of motorcycles and bicycles founded at the turn of the 20th century. Based in St Etienne it had Multiple factories. It produced well designed and good quality machines. Automoto grew in popularity until merging with the Peugeot group in the early 60's. Some of the factories are still standing to this day although no longer producing cycles or motorcycles. stumbled into the backside of his registered only newletter/site, so - enjoy! Big thanks to art director Marcy Atarod. This was such a fun commission to work on. Here's the first part of the article: "Even by Antarctic standards, the Lake Vostok research station is inhospitable. The outpost at the heart of the frozen continent holds the record for the lowest naturally occurring temperature ever observed on Earth. Scientists commonly describe the place as punishing, unforgiving, the most desolate place on the planet. That’s nothing. Nearly 4,000 meters below the station, beneath the crushing East Antarctic ice sheet, sits an enormous body of water. Lake Vostok has existed for millennia in dark, frigid isolation, presumably harboring nothing but the toughest microbes. But now a Russian team has drilled through the ice, breaching Lake Vostok for the first time in 15 million years."' http://patperry.net/blog

pardon alu' saw this above movie above... This stunning film takes you on a hypnotic journey, reaching to the past to understand the origins of the catastrophic environmental transitions we now face. Over two years, director Matt Anderson traveled 16,000 miles to document firsthand our modern industrial world and the environmental destruction in its wake. In the process, he discovered exciting strategies to help humanity transcend the coming ecological and psychological crisis. Some of today’s most progressive thinkers, from anthropologists and bio-architects to psychologists and journalists collectively recreate a story of humanity and the history of Earth, illuminating a desperately needed new path for us to take. Fall and Winter is a survival guide for the 21st Century. hit EXTRA FEATURES on video page / if interested. enjoy ours is the type of film that relies heavily on the interrelations between observations made by different interviewees. How did you set about selecting your subjects, and how did you go about interviewing them? Well, we have a lot of people in the film. There’s about 25 interviews, and the people range quite a bit – from professors to natural builders, urban activists to psychedelic scientists. My aim was to try and represent as many view points as possible that added a new perspective to our understanding of some aspect of the struggle for life and freedom. https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/fa...er/id771329547 http://thepublicradio.org/2013/05/24...n-fall-winter/ / public radios interview keeps disappearing / ? http://cargocollective.com/SPKENT/Fall-And-Winter npr's interview / https://soundcloud.com/search?q=matt...0fall%20winter
