Ingrid Pop Cranks

Is anyone running these? I’ve seen these pop up on interesting gravel builds on my IG feed recently and think they’d look great on a 1x build in working on.... I prefer the black version...

I like the looks of them. But the shape is poor if you need foot/ankle clearance. They are flat in terms of how they come off the bb spindle.
I ran into similar issues with the Easton cranks as they are also flat.

I have one and been using it for the past few months. I only have positive things to say about them. They look great, install easy and have given me stress free performance. I have big feet and had zero issue with their shape.
I came from Easton EC90 crankset. nite and day. The EC90 are great but suffer from a lot of QC issues.
You can see em on my bike here: https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...ghlight=ingrid

They have a few diffwrent options on their website. The 'POP' crankset has a q factor of 163, the 'R2' road version is 148: https://ingrid.bike/shop/

Glancing over the manual, it appears you install the BB spindle first and there is a threaded preload adjustment on the non drive side, then you install the chainring and crank arms.

very similar to the classic Easton preload although with much higher quality rings than Easton. The Easton EC90/EA90 preload ring is embarrassing. A piece of cheap plastic.
The Ingrid one is beefier.

yea exactly. Fairly easy to install. after several rides, it spins nice and looks very solid.

Betraying my square taper bias …

How bad is it to have a cheesy preload ring? I ask because I’m considering a Race Face replacement crank for my MTB and I assume it’ll match Easton spec.

Thanks.

it works well overall. just seems a v cheap if plastic with a 2.5mm retaining screw. if you want, you can upgrade to an alloy preload ring using this: https://canecreek.com/product/crank-preloader/

How about those derailleurs too tho?

Its all pretty wild looking stuff, I kind of dig the aesthetic.

I got some green Pop crankset arms for my Rasta build. The plastic preloader actually looks like 3D printed PA12. Which is what they use on the rear derailleur cage.

Here is my Pop crankset in green installed on my Reeb. Really want to get the gold anodized Cane Creek preload adjuster. Just haven't been able to find one yet.

Only really acceptable if you have a team bus and mechanic with sponge and soapy water standing by after every ride.

Ah, drillium, those were the days...
