FSA Energy Adventure Modular Crankset Puzzle

Hi, all. I bought a FSA Energy Adventure Modular Double Direct Mount Crankset. The crankset came with a 50/34. Installed the FSA bottom bracket on my Serotta Fierte IT project. Everything went fine until I noticed that the chainrings were not aligned. There was a 1/2 inch "wave" on the chainring as I slowly turn the crank.
Emailed FSA and was promptly sent a replacement set of chainrings in 48/32. Changed the chainrings and the same 1/2 inch "wave" is still present.

Anyone had a similar experience with this crankset? Everything fits/sits right with no gaps or play. I am stumped.

Here are a few photos. I will send the unit back so they inspect it and send me a replacement if need be.

are you sure its the chainrings that are wavy and the problem is not the crank or the BB?

use a alignment table

take the chain rings off and put them on a flat surface. make sure when reinstall they sit flat on the crank . just a tip.

Happy ending to FSA crank puzzle

I am happy to report that I sent the crankset back to FSA. And upon their inspection, the crank was part of a small batch that had production issues. The sent me a new replacement crankset under warranty. They were very responsive to my questions and claim. A shoutout to them for the great service.

I was quite incredulous to once receive a new 105 Octalink crankset with this same sort of wild misalignment of the right crankarm. Careful inspection showed that the recepticle had simply been formed/broached/machined off-axis with the rest of the crankarm, yet with all of the splines still in perfect condition and no detritus hiding in there.
