Zanconato Al Road

Dedaccai Adversa tubing, shaped every which way. Took a little while to tune in the ride, but it is near perfect now. Great bike.

With the Pegoretti Falz fork, I figure it is close to a Zanc version of a Love #3.

I highly recommend seeking out an Si fork like the one that came on my Six13 Team frameset. It was super light, yet had great road feel. It complimented the frame perfectly. Please note that the Si forks have larger inner diameters than typically seen for a 1 1/8" steerer tubes. It took me a while to find an expander plug that fit the steerer tube correctly. I found the KCNC expander plug fit perfectly and held firmly without coming loose.

I bought a caad9 as a race bike in college and really enjoyed it for what it was. Realistically, it wasn't a great choice for me but I did pretty well with it.

The six13s I lusted after for so long. There was no chance I could afford one in those days. Now I almost wish I had an excuse to get one. If it fit 28s on wide ish rims I'd honestly start looking for one again.

I'm semi intrigued by the caad13 these days. They look like they've come a long long way and being able to fit 30-32s on it would be a wild game changer!

I think it has had 3 groups (so far) - shimano 600 and 2x 6500 group sets. It is now serving indoor trainer duty with a 1X setup.

I'm kinda looking around for an AL frame. Haven't found what I like yet. Anyone have an idea what a stock Love #3 would cost, either frame and fork only, or built with mechanical Ultegra?

Thanks.

Yikes Angry! You must have about 20 bikes!

Gummee,

Is this a new custom built for you?

Curious about the bike design and your experience with the process, if so.

FTW has been on my list most of this year for next bike, but just have been picking parts and holding until things in my industry stabilize a bit JIC. Did pick up a new Underground Bike Works Revival hardtail frame built by FTW this summer though and was really impressed with the quality.

I've been eyeing an alum frame for a while. Having broken several frames, can someone refresh me on how alum fails when it does? I recall it cracks progressively like steel, only faster. So if, say, you inspect your (clean!) frame every few rides you're good?

Yes +1 more for Aluminum frames.

It is what I have been on for the last 4 years & love it.

Started like most decades ago on Steel made the change to Carbon then back to steel then carbon again & then finally aluminum

Like most I was hesitant & had heard the "stories" based on the older 3" tubed Alum harsh frames

Really I was so surprised by modern aluminum A6-SL super-butted 6066 aluminum in my case

Since then I have been really happy with this frame material & tube shapes still being round or triangulated in some sections.

I just never warmed to square carbon tubes like Pinarello F8 etc. My old carbon bikes were all tube & Lug carbon (Looks 381,585 & Cervelo R2.5)

Perhaps someday will return to steel but honestly I am more than happy already with the weight/performance/price ratios of Aluminum

Yes. Custom build. I knew what I wanted and Frank welded it up. He suggested the tubing (along with a co-worker and former FTW employee)

Got the HS lower in today. Almost everything is ready to go except brake pads. Had to trim the fenders a bit to make more room for 32s. I may still drop down to 28s to 30s 'because.'

IDK about what's showing up on your monitor, but the guys at Extreme Powder Coating found me a BRIGHT flouro orange! With parts on the bike, it isn't as overwhelming, but it's still BRIGHT! with a capital BRIGHT!

And my 20-year-old Klein has been through Shimano Ultegra 6600, DA7700, DA7800, DA7900, and now wears Ultegra 6800.
