I hate replacing cables!

Dura Ace 9000 shifters. Feel like need operation room to see the holes in the shifter (bad eyes) then cables I used had cable ends that would not fit . Got rear done will attack front tomorrow.

This generation mechanics should become watch repair masters!

I just redid my wife's 5800 today including housings. Took me 30 minutes start to finish including Rd/fd adjustment with necessary coffee sips throughout this morning -shrugs shoulders-

huge pain in the ass on that one. just rebuilt a friends bike with thumb shifters so damn easy I could do it upside down after 5 drinks. I love friction shifting I put it on all my bikes except sunny summer day $$ bike (it has 6800, similar issue). people look at me pretty funny when they see a 9sp dura ace friction shifter on my suspension bike

Wait until you try internal routing, then you'll really find out how fun things can get!

Imagine delta brake calipers, u get the set up of the casing wrong after you are done, or you get the setup of how open the calipers are, is pretty much game over and you have to replace the whole cable again, you can recycle the rear one and put that in the front, which is a common practice HERE I GUESS :P

It's one of those things I'm quite happy to pay to have done by someone else. Fortunately, it does not need to be done too often.
