+1 for Ozark. Just started watching and I'm already looking forward to the new season coming out soon.

i highly highly recommend Terrace House. you'll need to turn on subtitles for it. it's a japanese reality show a la big brother but without any sensationalistic casting. the residents are free to come and go as they please and continue living their current lives with only a change of address. the people are real, relatable, and genuine. quite a change of pace from american tv which makes it eminently watchable. i find american tv can get exhausting after a while and need a break. it's like turning down the volume on life.

I'm halfway through season 2 of Ozark, good stuff.

Finished The Ranch - Sam Elliott is great as the patriarch, and Elisha Cuthbert as his daughter in law is unexpectedly good. I wouldn't quite call it a sitcom, maybe an adult comedy series. Wendy Malick is good as an adversary. Dax Shepard is a good surprise too.

My wife has been binge watching Medium. I think that it fits the title - not horrible, but not great either.

If you liked Downton Abbey - on amazon, take a look at Dr. Thorne. I've read several of Anthony Trollope's novels and this was one of my favorites. Stefanie Martini is stunning, and Tom Hollander is good as always.

Season 2 of Formula 1: Drive to Survive
Superb program. Even my wife likes it and you get some insight into the driver personalities.

Not Netflix, but Mhz Choice: All the many years of the Montalbano series, plus the prequel.

Also on Mhz Choice: Banking District (Switzerland), and Murder in . . . (France), the latter being more light entertainment with beautiful regions of France standing in for the TdF.

All Mhz series are in their respective languages with pretty good subtitles, btw.

On FX on Hulu, Devs. Super trippy show. Only 4 episodes so far but it's really good.

Cheers!

Started about a month ago and just met Fraiser in season 3. Man, this show wouldn't be allowed to air today, but I'm glad it's available. Only 190 more episodes to go. If I skipped the theme song I'd save 190 minutes in the future....

Also check out Hinterland, Happy Valley and In the Line of Duty - three more excellent Brit crime shows.

I have been trying to watch netflix but find everything derivative when it´s not just plain bad. Some would make great feature films but extend the content to fit the series format w/ not so good results. I have abandoned quite a number in the last couple episodes then i gave up. I rather look out the window now: it is fresh and original out there.

Older movie I'd not seen: Mystic River. Very good. (Netflix)
