Everyone Loves Raymond Gravel Grind 11/16/19 Raymond, CA (central CA)

Our local riding club (Fresno Cycling Club) put on this event for the first time in 2018 and it was a fun day and great success. I'm helping on the organizing committee, so I had some input on determining the routes. This is in the Central CA foothills in the town of Raymond.
3 routes - 90 miles/7900', 60 miles/5600', and 35 miles/2800'
Route maps are available on the event page link below.
Low traffic with more than 50% (as much as 65%?) dirt and gravel roads.
Nice catered taco lunch (w/ veg option), long sleeve tee. Limited camping spots at the venue.
Fees are $75 for all distances
We have an event page at https://fresnocycling.com/event-3369504
We also have a Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/Evereyonelovesraymondgravel/

Would be happy to answer any questions regarding the ride or local landscape.

Thx
Henry

Wow, very cool. Less than 2 hrs from my alternate home. On my radar for sure, thanks for posting!

For those of us who don't like camping, got any recommendations for places to stay nearby?

Also, what sized tires would you recommend for this?

Closest motels are located in Madera or further up the mountain in Oakhurst. There are Airbnb rentals available in Raymond and Coarsegold. Any of these are within a 45 minute drive from the event.

As for tire choices, the non paved surfaces range from soft dirt and sand to rocky dirt to actual gravel. We have had riders use 25c road tires to 29+ (the 25c guy told me never again). I like 35-40c gravel tires like Riddlers or Ramblers. I have not ridden Gravel Kings, but I think they would work well (especially in the SK tread)

Had a fun time last weekend in Raymond. Did anyone here ride?
150 riders total. Good times.
