Campy EPS charger. Help a moron out.

So I just got a bar end plug for my Campy EPS. Did not like having to come up under the control unit when it was under the stem.

While not easy to attach the cord, it always would screw on. Now, I can’t seem to figure it out, even after binge watching YouTube vids. I bent the prongs on one charger and ran down to a not so LBS who happened to have one in stock (!).

He suggested lightly turning the cord until it seats and then twisting the collar onto the threads. I was able to feel it seat in the groove but I can’t seem to get the threads to bite. The collar on both the new and old cords don’t seem to move.

I’m out of battery and can’t ride. I love Campy but this design is not so bellisimo.
