Thankfully, -7 stopped suing everyone to enforce some sort of PR agenda. Helping the community as a whole gets really easy from there

Looking up to sports figures is not a good idea. Ask Charles Barkley.

Good lord, why is every Lance thread still good for 7 plus pages?

Because the mods have a cruel sense of humor.

Sure they took away his prizes (for better or worse) but he still won all 7 of those bike races.

My rule of thumb in terms of how close to the truth the public is in knowing and judging larger-than-life figures like Lance Armstrong...

He's either only half as bad as we described him in real life or....twice worse than we thought. There's no middle ground.

Probably a good bet that had LA and the whole peloton been racing clean at the time, he and his team probably still would have won those races. Still an a-hole though.

Some of his podcast have been VERY good and others not so much. His one with Bo Jackson is a favorite but everything with Bo Jackson is a favorite of mine. The Bo Jackson 30 for 30 is the best of them all.

The recent pod cast about the Best of the Blue Train were also pretty good. I think in e everyone of them he points out the Vase he got for winning the Tour that is on the shelf behind him. He claims know one ever came to pick it up so he decided to keep them all. Lol

I have always been a fanboy but I have been pretty surprised by the good relation he maintains with other athletes. Many of his old team mates seem to still think highly of him.

Drugs turned him from a classics rider to a guy who could climb faster than just about anyone and do so day after day after day with unmatched recovery. Nah, clean, he's a guy who challenges on the hillier one-day races, but Grand Tours? No way.

I wouldn't say you are wrong, but that could also apply to many of the other riders competing at the time.

Actually he does. Any public figure living on media contracts, sponsors and publicity very much depends on the public sympathy.
