Given the number of positive tests during and since the Lance years, is anybody really surprised that nothing has changed?
Seriously? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

"It is 100 for each puff, but to get 2000, how many times would you have to do it? You’d have to see see him on TV doing it." People will rewatch the stage and count how many times, if any, Froome took a puff. |

Honest question here, how much does dehydration affect the measurement? The test was taken at the end of a demanding stage at the end of Grand Tour.

Across the hall arik said this. Seems to contradict that study:
"I am actually an asthma specialist and routinely give albuterol (the US equivalent of salbutamol) to people to help diagnose asthma. We do a breathing test (spirometry) before and after inhaling the drug. Albuterol DOES increase lung function (FEV1) up to 5-8% in healthy people, and wears off in about 4 hours. In people with uncontrolled asthma, the increase in lung function can be 10% or more, and we consider +12% to be diagnostic of asthma. So it is no surprise to me that cyclists would like to have a diagnosis of exercise-induced asthma and be allowed to use these types of medications, whether they have asthma or not. Can't speak to the masking effects but that would be the icing on the cake." https://www.velocipedesalon.com/foru...tml#post879723 Here is an interesting article about it. http://inrng.com/2017/12/chris-froomes-salbutamol-case/ Quote:

Not necessarily. That review is looking specifically at studies measuring B2 agonists' impact on athletic performance (VO2max, endurance time to exhaustion @ 105-110% VO2max, etc) and not FEV1.
So perhaps FEV1 does increase, but not in a way that is actually improving athletic performance by the measures in those studies. Quote:

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, its probably a duck.
I am just happy knowing that world class athletes have chronic health conditions. If they were really healthy, then they'd be unbeatable. Just imagine |
