I've worn pants twice since March of last year. Not even sure why. I think I put jeans on to see the dentist.

Went to new hire training in shorts (via Google Video Meet). Attended the Jewish holidays (via zoom) in a hospital onesy. Yea, it's been an interesting year.

In the past, I've only worn leather belts...shiny ones with suits, more casual ones with khakis, jeans or even shorts.

I think I'm out of touch too...I'm going to try a couple of the bison belts.

Or maybe Silca has something made from vintage Clement Criterium Seta carcassas...

The last belt I bought was in 2012 at high peaks cyclery store upstairs for $2!
Why would you ever need to spend more?

my favorite leather belt by far was bought from an Amish leather crafter when I lived in Cleveland. Love it. But I have a half dozen of the Grip 6 belts/buckles. They work, can be mixed/matched, are made in USA, and you can spring for the carbon fiber buckle option (I don't have it yet and hard to justify with my others, but it is sharp)

....and I just browsed the site for the 1st time in over a year and see they have some cool new ultralight models. anyway, highly recommended. and vegan.

That is nice! Just ordered a forged carbon in raven. Thank you paceline for once again lightening my wallet for a completely unnecessary and unplanned purchase

Some good ideas here.
For leather belts, I have gotten my best ones from leather shops that are sprinkled around the country. You know the kind: funky sign and sketchy storefront, smell great when you enter them, have some funky things including fringed jackets and moccasins, and there’s somebody who looks suspiciously like a leftover hippie from the 70s behind the counter. I’ve never spent more than $25 for a great leather belt including buckle in these shops. Great places. Heck, they will even punch extra holes in the belt for you if you need them.

I now know after 13+ years on this website I do not belong🥴
I can live for multiple months backpacking, unsupported touring or trail running for less than you guys spend on a belt😳

Maybe this is why Pete and I got along so well!!!

FYI, just spent my 61st free unsupported night in the backcountry this past weekend!

I watched the video of how to put on the carbon buckle. It is different...does it take a lot of getting used to?
