Brought home something non-bike related today.

He’s a lap dog for sure. I’ve adopted, rescued, and fostered countless animals over the years. He’s attached himself to me faster than any previous animal. It’s a good thing that my office is dog friendly.

So...can you share some of your thinking going from one of the world's smallest dogs to one of the biggest? Most people seem to prefer one or the other.

Gauge is good looking dog. The dynamic between a big dog little dog never disappoints like a super hero tandem. I can thoroughly enjoy a thread of cyclist's pets.

I grew up around large dogs: collies, labs, shepherds. As an adult I’ve had a few terriers. My wife was terrified of dogs when we got married so it was just cats for the first 10-12 years of our marriage. Fortunately she’s over that fear now. The Shih Tzu is a rescue that showed up on our door and stayed. I’ve wanted a Dane for awhile and when this guy came up in need of a home I made it happen. I’ve owned horses before so Gauge doesn’t seem all that large to me. Right now we have 2 cats, the Dane, Shih Tzu, and a rabbit. My thinking is this: I love animals of all sizes.

Congratulations, he looks wonderful. I love a good dog thread. I was just thinking last night that I’m ready for a new pooch, after loosing our Jasper last November I’m really missing the companionship of a dog.
Thanks for sharing.

My wife is a vet, and would love you for this. Me too for that matter. Good on you... so many animals in need of good homes.

5 cats for us. Haven't had dogs in 12 years. See that changing in the next couple. Miss the hell out of them.

With the exception of a few goldfish, every animal I’ve ever brought home has been some sort of rescue or shelter adoption. Cats, dogs, chickens, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. Probably won’t surprise anyone, but I’m the type of person that gets invited to a party and introduces myself to the household pets.
