No seriously, filson leather damn good but I’ve got both a gap and a timberland leather belt that are 20 yrs old respectively and I’m still not dropping trou.

Recently bought a Patagonia nylon and it is also very nice…thick soft webbing and doesnt budge once on.

I love Patagonia for a variety of reasons, but I had one of those belts and dumped it for Bison. Narrower, lighter, etc.

Better. Plus the bottle opener in the sandals work just fine without a bike.

I’m not quite sure what dirtbag touring is, but I’d hate to be made fun of by those folks!

Soulrun makes some great nylon belts too. I tend to prefer their fauxbra buckles. Really nice and hold tight.

Also have one of their belts with a cobra buckle and others with metal and plastic rings. Find the cobra a bit big for me and the plastic rings tends to slip, but the metal rings hold tight.

Their narrow version of above with the fauxbra buckle is my favorite for shorts because short loops are usually narrow. Even use it on mtb with my club ride shorts.

I have a Coach leather belt from 20 yeas ago that looks pretty much the same other than patina and some curve from wear. It’s been up many mountains and kept my pants from falling off when I was skin and bones while racing.

Solid brass buckle looks the same the day I bought it..

My assumption, perhaps unfairly, is they aren’t the same now.

The ‘dirtbag touring’ group is a group of 60+ yo folks who do a minimum of 2500 miles of unsupported free touring each year. Every member must do one 700 mile ride each year, the most expensive bikes in the group are soma saga’s.
Yeah, we’re old school and miserable...but we ride for the joy of riding and we’re poor and have a blast!

I apologize if I made you feel bad, that was not my intent.

I was just expressing the feelings of someone who could eat for a month on what some people spend on belts.

It gets frustrating sometimes when your called names in a derogatory way (troll) when it is part of your history.

We all can do as you state above, or most can anyways. Some choose that way others don’t.

No worries wasn’t offended just think If you have no interest move on and skip the derogatory comments. It helps no one.

Ditto, the same with disrespecting someone’s nationality!
