That's sad, and no, he should not be in the HOF.

The man had a very analytical approach to batting, and I really enjoyed his insights here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yae1KxRSq0g.

One of the greatest ever, and one of the hardest players ever.

He was one of the greatest in the game and was at every HOF weekend I attended over the years. He was accepted by all the greats that were inducted as they knew he was one of the greats as well. RIP

Bart Giamatti died of a heart attack eight days after announcing Rose's suspension. I've always wondered if the stress from the whole affair played a part, and have in the back of my mind blamed Rose at least a bit for Giamatti's death.

Even in all star games - Fosse wasn't the same after that.

Fosse was a much better human being than Rose. I heard that Rose never apologized for bowling him over.

Now he will be. He was penalized by never given the opportunity of the speech on the lawn. When most of the old vets from his period and a little after die off, they'll reconsider. Especially now that ball parks will be named after phone gambling apps. Height of hypocrisy.

Besides, go visit the HOF. He's in there. How could he not be?

Never knew about him till I drunk too much with a Reds fan once.
Seems the gatekeepers won that game.
And now they should open the gate.

I would go on but don't need a political slant getting the thread locked. RIP

I agree on this. Height of hypocrisy. All major sports have embraced gambling and now need it as a major source of revenue. The day MLB signed their first contract with a gambling entity is the day they should have lifted his ban.

So Lance gets his wins back when they legalize PEDS at the TDF?

Probably, as well as a bunch of others from that era who have been vilified. But anyway, PEDs aren’t being made legal in cycling anytime soon. Anyway, this is more about Pete Rose and his on-field accomplishments, which are HOF worthy. They’re not really similar scandals though they have had similar outcomes.
