That's a big FD. Maybe the companies should start using 58-60cm frames for their model bikes with the wireless super record. For $15k, at least throw in some "claims" about how aero it is

For me at least, one BIG difference between the Denk Supersix from 2012 and the Denk Aethos from 2022 is that the Aethos has a more compliant ride.
My Supersix Evo HM handled just like the Aethos. Both were racy, efficient, flickable. Both changed directions almost telepathically. But the Supersix Evo HM would beat me down on a long (3.5+ hr) rides. The Aethos did not. Quote:

I’m a campy guy and I can’t get over how hard this new group sucks. I don’t even want it for $2K. It the ugliest fking groupset in years besides the crank.
It’s hilarious to me that when the prototype leaked a year ago everyone was like there’s no way campy would release something this god awful and yet here we are. Hahahaha It would be one thing if there was a functional difference to the alternatives but it seems worse in most ways practically. Campy mech shifting always felt better than shimano and the ergonomics were way better and it was lighter. At least that Aethos paint job looks good. |

I could not do a methodical comparision because the Supersix was rim brake and the Aehtos obviously is not. I had different wheels on them but both were 32-35 mm and both had 28 mm tires (but not the same tires).
However, I had ridden the Supersix with multiple wheels (tubeless alloy, tubeless shallow carbon, tubeless deep-er carbon, tubular carbon) and in every iteration, the Supersix was just harsh over long distances. It would just beat me up. |

Of course there's the obligatory "wait and see" what the kinks are for campy.

My experience with a Supersix of the same era was identical. It was crazy light and handled very well. But it was non compliant enough that at high speeds on descents it was skittish, and yeah, after 2.5 hrs you were pretty battered.

Thank goodness! I wouldn't have picked up a frameset if it was hidden.
