I mean… how the frame came to be is very clearly written in the press release.

Hasn’t been the first frame Rapha have collaborated with a builder on and certainly won’t be the last. Some of my favorite bikes of all time came out of Rapha Continental…

Pro-Tip: you can buy a regular bike you want, have it painted in a Rapha scheme..

Seems like some marketing for Baum, if nothing else.

Is the pricing actually at a premium to a normal Baum frame? $15k complete with Dura Ace di2. The groupset and wheels are about $6500 right now. Other components add another $1000 or so. And the remaining $7500 is about what a Baum titanium frame goes for. Plus with this one, you get the Silca fun pack too.

It's actually a decent deal if you're already in the market for a Baum titanium bike.

I think the pricing is actually a good value. One could buy Tarmac or Madone and get yet another "plastic" bike.

I sure would like to ride a Baum one day. I want to know what makes them worth the $7k asking price. I feel most of it is cool looking paint. You can get a Ti strong for $4k, I doubt the Baum rides $3k+ better.

is this how that price breaks down, generally?

7k frame
4k group
3k wheels
3k cockpit & rest of stuff

a really exceptional paint job is easily 2k so subtract that from the frame and i guess that's the ballpark.

guess that's the going rate these days for top shelf stuff. including big bike co. stuff too. yowza.
