New Black Mountain 650b on the way!

Surprised no one has posted this yet... Looks like Mike is prototyping a new 650b with discs! I think enough folks have asked about using a front bag, that will be considered for the final for sure...

I'll definitely give one a shot.

I love my Monstercross, so why not.

This is cool! I already have a bike like this, but I'm intrigued to try one anyway.

I definitely love what Mike is laying down!

ALTHOUGH:
This rear drop out looks kinda haggard. Woof.

If I end up with another road type bike this is along the lines of what I would do. Nice.

That makes me want one of these frames just a bit more than before. Very cool, though don't care about the 650b stuff...

I really want to try a 650B bike, I really like that and I'd seriously consider one except...discs. I know I'm in the minority but I have a less than zero desire for them.

I really like what Black Mtn is doing frame wise but both of their current models have 'deal breaker' specs so I guess one is just not in my future.

I like Black Mountain. Wish he would offer frames with less stack and more reach though. Don't fit me.

I'm not a fan of disc brakes on a steel bike because of the extra weight on an already heavy bike.

I am glad more of these bikes are being built.

I think I prefer the endpoint hunter gatherer though. More trail, MIUSA, TA. I also don't like the fork on this at all but I know this is just a proto.

Is it me or is this a contemporary incarnation of the much desired bridgestone XO1?

Could be!

FWIW Mike seems really open to input on this project. I've made a few suggestions and I think it's helpful at this point. The framesets aren't due until the spring, so we have some time to give him our wish lists.

Hopefully, he'll keep this "value" priced theme going as well.

The Monstercross rides really well and I'm having a blast on mine this summer.
