Looking for a true 33-34mm wide tire

I am looking for a slick or light knobby tire that measures a true 34mm max. width. The frame was built with clearance for 35mm tires but I have 32's on it now and don't think 35's will fit. It will be used mainly on road (rough chip seal).

Think I heard that GK 32's run big - rim is a Hed C2 23mm wide.

Tubeless is not needed or desired.

GK would be my first recommendation based on your requirements.

My 700x32 GravelKing slicks measure between 33-34mm on Kinlin XR26T (19mm internal). That's setup tubeless. I'm super happy with these tires.

The C2 is 18mm internal. A 32mm GravelKing would probably measure right at 32mm on a C2 with tubes. I wouldn't chase a mm or two at the expense of a lesser tire. The GKs are really good.

If you're riding predominately pavement and/or chip seal then go with the slick.

tubeless gp5000s in 32. measure a little over 33 on a 25mm internal rim. I'm getting 4k miles+ on back and longer on front on 95% road, with some light gravel/canal trail and dirt road. Highly recommend, last longer than I thought they would and readily available for ~$50 EDIT: oops just read tubeless part. well the clincher version I guess

I believe continental speed king cx tires run a little narrow. They are advertised as 35 but I'm pretty sure they come in at 33-34.

Jack Browns are 33mm wide

Hutchinson Overrides are good tires too, with a narrow smooth center strip to roll fast on pavement. they measure a little small, so a 35 would probably be perfect on the C2 rims.

i also agree that it's hard to go wrong with gravel kings.

If you want a pair of Gravel King 700x32mm clinchers, I've got these. Bought them and used them once on the road. For me, they were a tweener. Too big for the road, too small for off road. PM if interested.

If your thumbs are up for it, P-Rs and S-Bs will inflate to 33mm and IMHO are the most round clinchers you can buy.

I've never heard someone describe a tire like that, what do ya mean?

Also, not to get into a tubeless debate on another thread, but 32's tubeless will let you drop the pressure enough that the added grip and comfort is really substantial regardless of the width. Consider it.

In my entirely unscientific experience the profile of these tires are completely round from rim to rim unlike the traditional clincher U-shape.

I have Kenda Kommandos on a couple of bikes that I use for pavement/gravel rides. They have knobs but I've never noticed noise on pavement. Nominally 35 mm but as I recall they measure 32-34 mm on "normal" road rims. They had plenty of clearance on the Primus Mootry frame I sent you if that helps. I have more miles on them than any other tire in the past ten years and can't recall having a flat.

I always suspected the Jack Browns were made using a 35-622 mold.

My Grand Bois Cypres measured 32.6 on HEDs when they were relatively new. Now at roughly 2000 mi measure 33.8 on Quills.
