Super fun looking build, I really enjoyed mine when I had it. One caveat: keep an eye on the track ends near the adjuster, mine developed a crack and have seen mention of others experiencing this as well.

The thrill of the hunt (!) - love it.

Few Q's - why did you dislike the TRP's? I'm building a similar SSCX Moots CanTi (see previous posts) and down to the last few bits/bobs. I too am gonna go flat bar for all the reasons. Was thinking TRP Revox (if I can find them) or Avid Ultimates - was wondering your reasoning on the MiniMoto's and dislike of the TRP's.

Also, what gearing you running?

Just took my dropbar Voodoo up through Kenneth Hanh where I'm usually riding on my Bontrager...I would have eaten far less **** had I 42's and a flat bar. I was lucky I stopped tumbling short of the cactus patch.

Looks great, bet it rides sweet.

Thanks everyone. It's super fun.

Re: TRP brakes. I had the revo-x brakes (yellow ones) and there was zero stopping power at times. They just didn't have any power. I tried various pads and adjustments. Just never worked for me. The Paul mini motos are superior in every sense, and when people say "they stop like hydraulic brakes" I now can see why. Do yourself a favor and skip the TRP route. Avid Shorty's are supposed to be good, but I can't vouch since I've never tried 'em.

Gear talk: currently at 38x17 ... a little steep, but I'm making it work.

TRP CX8.4 is a solid alternative to the Mini Moto but there's just no need for cantis.

I run basically the same (40x18) on my commuter NB with 44s and my no longer young knees are grateful. Plus it keeps me from sweating too profusely which my coworkers appreciate.

A few teammmates had these for sscx racing on the east coast back in the day, but these were obviously very practical for the horrendous muddy oregon cx courses where it looks like your first one was seeing use. Sweet build.
