Gunnar Hyper-X (2019)

Bought this as a F/F/H last month and am slowly getting the parts I want together on it. Some are salvaged from an old bike and others I'm still sourcing but I'm hoping to have something of a color scheme to it. The frame and fork are a light/baby blue and I'd like to have a lot of silver parts with some royal blue touches and black for the rest (tires, saddle, bartape, derailleurs, chainrings). Not all the blue anodization will be exactly the same, but I hope it will be close enough and sparse enough to not be distracting.

Gunnar Hyper-X 56cm frame in Big Band Blue (one of Gunnar's archived colors)
ENVE Adventure fork
Chris King Navy headset
Custom Light Wheels (Blue Bitex BX106 hubs, silver Sapim CX-Ray spokes, 700c carbon rims)
White Industries R30 cranks (silver arms, blue extractor cap, black 48/32 chainrings)
Silver Ritchey stem and handlebars
Ritchey Flexlogic seatpost
Stainless Steel silver bottle cages (ordered V/O Moderniste MKIIs, but may change depending on how I think they look)
royal blue flashes (seatpost collar, fd clamp, centerlock disc lockrings, bar-end plugs)

Off the old bike I'm taking -
Dura-Ace R9100 shifters
105 R7000 disc brake calipers
105 R7000 front derailleur

and I bought a GRX 810 rear derailleur

I'll have better pictures as the parts come in and the build progresses.

I love Gunnar bikes for their comfort and control. Your color scheme sounds spot on - I look forward to seeing more.

I’ll be posting photos of my two latest Gunnar bikes here soon - like now, on Washington's Birthday.

Dave, who also needs to take pics of one of the first Gunnar bikes shipped from Waterford Wisconsin in 1999 which is his single-speed Street Dog

Looking forward to seeing them!

As far as my build/color scheme goes, the one thing I've been really unsure of was whether I should stick to the scheme and get an aluminum silver seatpost and sacrifice a bit of comfort, or just get the more comfortable carbon one. Opted with the carbon, but there's still time to change my mind.

Like you, there will be a bit of silver.

Mostly secondhand and parts off other bikes, I think I should have all the extra other bits by Saturday.

I'm waiting on wheels and crankset. All is on hold until then. I am loving how yours is coming together and starting to get jealous of how much sooner you'll be able to ride yours.

Finally posted photos of my Gunnar Crosshairs. With its custom geometry, it's in the other image section if you'd like to look. https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=292830

building up

Getting closer! Just missing some of those fiddly bits like the correct size fixing bolts for the rear disc brake. Also have a different seatpost collar that I need to pick up from a local manufacturer (Engin) but using this black one from the co-op in the meantime.

Also ended up getting some parts in carbon rather than aluminum at the recommendation of my LBS (seat post and crankset specifically)
