Ryun's bikes
I hadn't posted any of my bikes in a while.
Rather than do them all individually just throw them up here. Starting with the plastic bikes In no particular order My C68 with super record eps and LW wheels. the C68 really nails the spot between the c64 and v3rs. A little more aggressive fit and slightly faster handling than the c64 but not as twitchy as the v3rs. Comes in about 1/2 pound more than the identically equipped V3rs. Comfort level is also improved over the v3rs although these LW wheels are so stiff they may have to go. The new CC01 bars are very very nice. Good road feel, not overly stiff and look very svelte compared to other options. the tool kit in the steerer is a bit gimmicky and I could never get it to stop rattling. ![]() Next up... My V3RS Pogacar white jersey edition. This bike is incredibly. Handling is very sharp and its very stiff. Built with Campagnolo SR EPS, Bora two ultra 45/60s and Deda Alaneras. Don't really care for the alaneras: a little too stiff and the longest 120mm stem Ive seem lol. Once the kit comes out to adapt CC01 bars to the v3rs, Ill make that switch. Also have a darimo post incoming that might also add a little comfort to the bike ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for sharing! As usual, fantastic builds on top shelf bikes. Your feedback on the c68 v c64 makes it sound really appealing! I’ve never understood the allure of Lightweight wheels. No disrespect to anyone who owns a set but the Boras look better and sounds like ride better too?

Now for my Wiliers.
I got a filante about a year ago and was so impressed with the ride quality, I wanted to try there other models. Very underrated frames in my opinion and can be tough to sort but Id put them against anything out there. The bars and seat post are also very nice quality and both very light. This is my second filante. Just because I love the paint. Astana paint. Spanish national champion scheme. This bike is a rocket. And pretty comfy for an aero bike. I drool every time I walk up to it. The yellow bar tape is a little outside my comfort zone but so far sticking with it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Next my Wilier Zero SLR. Astana team paint.
This is the best riding carbon bike Ive ever ridden, narrowly beating out my Bianchi Specialissima.Comfort for days and still plenty firm under power even with the super svelte seat stays I have ridden this bike on long flat fast centuries with deeper wheels and the hincapie gran fondo with shallow wheels. Just an amazing bike. A couple of nit picky things. the seat post is super light and I cracked one even using a torque wrench. It was super difficult to find a replacement. Michael @velocipede was a huge help. My only real complaint with wilier is the limited sizes. Id really like a m/l size but thats only aesthetics cause im not used to all the spacers lol. Handling is still marvelous. Setup here with bora ultras 45/33 although I have used some rival alpinist which were light but not quite stiff enough on fast descents for my tastes. My wife took them from me ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The last of my wilier trio and most recent add.
Wilier Rave gravel bike. Don't have as my miles on this as the others but have done some fast singletrack and mixed surface riding with it. It did a surprisingly good imitation of a mountain bike although mountain biking in north Florida is pretty tame. originally It was built with ekar but I couldn't get the shifting coming back down the cassette to my liking. Seemed like the internal routing the bars and frame just caused to much friction. So I have decided to take a chance with eps on the frame as a place holder til hopefully campy comes out with an electronic ekar. Running a 48/32 with an 11-34 cassette and so far so good. Planning right now to take it to BWR Asheville so we will see if that enough gear. fingers crossed the eps holds up to dust and sand. The Levante wheels roll nice as you'd expect from Campy. Im running 35 ssk+ and some schwalbe g-one speeds in 35 although the wheels recommend 38+ In retrospect, I might've done shamals so I could have the narrower options available for road work. Running the zero bar instead of the j bar. Didn't feel the need for a flared set of bars so I went with the more traditional bar setup Would've preferred brighter paint but only two colors were available when I ordered it ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Which one do you prefer overall, the filante or the zero slr?

The design on the blue Willier TT is just sublime.
Not to precipitate another tired rim/disc debate (I have both) but I thought you were a “rim” guy through and through? |

I can't believe I missed this thread. Nice writeups.
Of the Pro Tour bikes, the Colnago Vs are the one I think I'd choose. Maybe with a 32 tire, it'd be a touch more compliant for mortals. Good stuff, Ryun! Keep it coming.

I've never owned or ridden a Willer and I've always wondered about these bikes. Are they their own kind of ride or similar to something else out there?

Beautiful bikes!
That C68 looks stunning, but it probably could look and ride a bit better with a set of Hyperon Ultras -- love LWs but they are too much of a compromise TBH. Do you know for a fact that a kit to adapt the cc.01 bars to older Colnagos is coming?. I would like to use it in my C64. Last edited by s4life; 05-08-2023 at 06:03 PM. |

Out of curiosity have you tried letting a few psi out of the tires to see if that improves the feel? Just curious as I've never tried LW wheels?

Overall I prefer the ride and aesthetics of the Zero. Its sooo smooth and handles great. The filante handles the flat high speeds of Florida group rides amazingly but if I lived in a more rolling area, i would just stick with the Zero.
