Mega-Pro Bianchi
I bought this several years ago and it's been living in my garage attic, unbuilt for a long while. Decided I want to do Cino out west this year and seems like a good time to build this up. Paint is well used, but it's still solid. Mega-Pro tubing is pretty cool with some dramatic shaping in the DT, and of course the made in italy celeste frame is always cool.
Build will be some eclectic mix of as many italian components as I can throw at it and keep it in the spirit of eroica/cino style. Wish it had DT shifter bosses, but it is what it is. Excuse the cluttered workbench. ![]()

and some freshly gutted brake levers, coincident with the rat rod build ahead.

I love the gigantic downtube on this frame. I'll be interested to hear how this rides, given the small size of the frame!
Frankly I love those old unicrown forks. I have a bike with a unicrown fork and some employee at a bike shop literally called it "ugly" to my face. I was like, "did you even ride bikes in the 1990s???" Anyway, he did not ride bikes in the '90s, as he was probably not born yet. *Sigh* |

I have a clamp on Campagnolo DT shifter set if you need it, that DT looks a bit fat though.

I'm curious as to the ride quality as well-that' sort of Deccadai' answer to Columbus Max, I guess. Same era. I had one Max bike in a 51 that was just a heavy dead tank (mxl ) and now have one that while still really heavy rides pretty sweet (the Rossin that has its own thread).

That should work out nicely.

Is that a triple you reworked into a 46/30? Just new rings? I am interested in trying to build a low cost subcompact in a similar fashion.
Celeste is best! |

Little progress here, more silvery parts hung. Coming together nicely.

I'll be very interested to see the tires you can fit in there, since you're intending to use it at Cino.

Clearance check: These Vittoria Corsas are labeled 32, but measure out to 30mm on old school Ambrosio rims, and clear all areas. These are probably the tires I'll wind up on.

That's awesome! I had to get some work done on my '87 Bianchi to get 32's to fit. Nice that you've got that room "stock".
