With all the regs on bikes I don’t see why they wouldn’t formalize some rules about helmets.

At some point these increase injury risk in a crash vs a normal helmet as they’d be able to torque the neck more.

Somebody should fair in the whole bike for a laugh but it’s only connected to the riders head.

Remember when the UCI first forced TT helmets to have the protective foam layer and not just be a plastic shell?
Was it that same year POC unveiled their similarly shaped (from the front) lid? That seemed pretty far out.

I wish they'd show us the wind tunnel testing and numbers for the fluid dynamic geeks out there.

I hate to think what might have happened to Kung if he had worn that Visma helmet last year.

You guys all know that you don’t have to run out and buy one just because the “pros” do, right?

My neck hurts just looking at it.

The Cybertruck of cycling, but not quite as ugly.

UCI seem to be threatening to do something but might be a year away [?],you’d assume Giro developed this to be within current rules ,they are on a winner all round with huge brand publicity and a product even if banned that triathletes will line up round the block to buy .The pricing will be at a similar elevated level to running super shoes to separate it away from ‘normal’ helmets and get marketed as an item comparable to disc/deep wheels

must make perfect aero sense

everything about TT is a bit ridiculous--aero bars are less safe by a wide margin, the TT position is hard (now impossible for me due to cervical spine stuff), and, while it's been a few years, the last TT bikes I tried were much less comfortable due to the wide aero-shaped tubes.

Given the whole point of TT is go fast with less drag, aesthetics are pretty meaningless. IF safety was primary concern, they'd not allow aero bars. I'm surprised they haven't done some sort of cervical support device incorporated into aero helmet that just keeps the rider's head at the best aero position, and also better protects the neck for the inevitable TT crashes.

It made the CNN front page. Visma is getting extra exposure for sure, so that is worth no matter how this goes down
