Bike Adirondacks (BikeADK)

Bike Adirondacks (BikeADK) is an Adirondack owned and operated bicycle powered company based in Saranac Lake, NY. We create, execute, promote and support charity driven events, build custom tours, curate a library of routes, trail networks, and events, and sell cool t-shirts.

Large events? Yep, we’ve got those! (Virtual this season due to Covid 19 but dedicated to bringing you the same annual events LIVE next season.) Just click over to our site HERE.

Custom small group tours? Of course! They are safe, customized tours for your desires and abilities. So this year you can enjoy that cycling vacation you thought Covid would make you miss! They’re right HERE.

Routes? Yep. Looking for road or gravel routes? How about the best single-track networks? We've gotcha! Just take a look HERE.

Area Events? We’re dedicated to the larger growth of cycling in the Adirondacks, so we have a complete area events page HERE.

Oh, and that cool gear?
Those t-shirts and much more are right HERE!

2020 Boutique Tours

Did you think the Covid pandemic was going to rob you of that special cycling vacation this year? Guess what–you’re wrong!

Our personalized small group bicycling experiences are exactly what you need to ride like a local. Each is designed to provide you with a true connection to the landscape and history of the Adirondacks through Covid safe, professionally guided road and gravel routes custom built to suit your personal experience.

Here’s all the details . . .

Covid-19

The North Country of New York State is on track to fully re-open by the end of June. But rest assured we’re working closely with local and regional officials to ensure these tours will follow the safest protocols. Safe social distancing practices are an absolute priority, which is why each tour is limited to six people. Plus, our guides will have sanitizer on hand at all times.

Lodging & Dining

Once you register, our guides will get in touch with you to learn more about the type of lodging you prefer. We then work directly with local properties to find the best option for you and your group. We also work with local restaurants to determine the best plan to keep you powered throughout the weekend in a way that works for your taste buds and personal diet.

Routes & Distances

We have a massive amount of local knowledge and use that to work directly with you to design a perfect weekend of riding routes and distances personally designed to your ability and riding preferences. You tell us what you like, and we build it for you.

Cancellation Policy

If, for any reason, we need to cancel a tour due to Covid-19, all registrants will receive a 100% refund. It's the right thing to do.

Bottom line, these are totally customized weekends for you and your riding buddies. We build your dream weekend. Then ride it with you to make sure you never miss an Adirondack view or secret swim spot - on or off the bike.

Hope you can join us,

Doug Haney | Owner & Founder

The summer is half gone! Don't miss out!

Whew! It's hard to believe, but we've hit the midway point of 2020 and hope you've been able to put some enjoyable miles on your bike. We'd love to help you with a few more.

Over the last month, we've worked closely with our partners to make sure we're able to operate events that are both safe and fun, but also still true to their purpose, which is benefiting nonprofit organizations we believe in, while supporting our small Adirondack communities.

Long story short, registration for both Ride for the River in Wilmington and Pat Stratton Ride in Saranac Lake is now OPEN. Each will operate a bit different this summer, but we've set up a hybrid format for each that ensures you can enjoy the rides safely while supporting a good cause.

Based on guest feedback, we've also lowered the registration cost for small group Boutique Tours. You ask, we listen! Which is exactly why Boutique Tours are completely customized to your desired experience.

Also, as a thank you for hanging with us while we worked to get event registration up and running, we'd like to offer free shipping on all BikeADK apparel now through July 15! Just use the code BIKEANTLERS at checkout.

Onward!

Ride for the River is HERE!

This year's Ride for the River has gone virtual, so you can still enjoy the stunning beauty of the Whiteface Region of the Adirondacks while supporting the important work of this local organization.

The magnificent scenery, ecological diversity, and clear waters of the Ausable River make it a jewel of the Adirondack region. Coursing down from the High Peaks, plunging over waterfalls and through steep bedrock gorges, then meandering through valley lowlands, the river creates extensive wildlife habitat, hardy forests, fertile valleys, and stunning landscapes before it empties into Lake Champlain.

The Ride for the River supports the work of the Association in its dedication to protecting the Ausable watershed and ensuring it's enjoyment for everyone.

REGISTER FOR THE RIDE FOR THE RIVER

• Routes (30 & 43 miles) will be marked by the morning of Saturday, July 18 and you can ride them at anytime you like until Sunday, July 26 or if you can't make it to Wilmington, you can ride in support of Ausable River Association on a favorite route near you. All routes are self-supported, and route maps are available by clicking the Route tab above.

• Share your experience on the Ride for the River Event Page on Facebook or on Instagram using the tags #AusableRiver, #Ride4TheRiver and #BikeADK. Prizes will be awarded to the best photos/video.

• For your registration you will receive by mail a unique 2020 ride T-Shirt, copy of Adirondack Life Magazine and a BikeADK sticker, plus all the warm fuzzies in knowing you're supporting an incredible conservation organization who cares deeply for the Ausable River watershed and the Adirondacks.

• 100% of the proceeds from the event will go directly to Ausable River Association.

Had a great ride this past Saturday . . .

. . . up in the Adirondacks out of Wilmington, just over the hill (if you can call Whiteface a "hill") from Lake Placid.

We rode from the very nice little town park at Lake Everest on the 43 mile route for the Ride for the River that includes miles and miles of stunning Adirondack scenery. R4tR is a fundraiser for the Ausable River Association, which is a non-profit that works to protect the river environment and watershed.

With careful planning, the scientific collection and assessment of data, and working side-by-side with landowners, local, state, and federal government, NGOs, researchers, residents and other stakeholders, AsRA’s programs identify and address many of the key threats to this beautiful resource. They protect the clean waters, natural hydrology, diverse ecology, and scenic beauty of the Ausable, and inspire and provide knowledge for others to cherish and protect the watershed.

We had a few "decently stout" climbs (translation: 11-12%), encountered some (maybe) Olympic athletes out training, rode across the covered bridge in Jay, and even saw a moose! (Well, kind of . . . )

If you're looking for a great place to get away--and help the Ausable River Association with their fundraiser during this lean covid year, the virtual Ride for the River goes on all of this week. It's well worth a road trip to Lake Placid. You can get more info HERE
