This would be familiar to anyone old enough to remember the oil crisis of '73. IIRC, this is when the warning signs showed up on gas pumps to only use approved containers. As much good as that did, apparently.

What I don't understand is what the plastic bag types are planning on doing with the bags when they get home. It's going to be difficult to pour the stuff out of the bag. Also, that's the perfect recipe for spontaneous combustion.

Some plastic bags will just dissolve from the gasoline anyway..

The crazy thing about this gas hoarding is so many of us are still driving so little it makes it hard to get super concerned about gas.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess the 3/4 tank of gas I have in my car will outlast this little "shortage", not that there is any run on gas here.

Citrus County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire in the late morning hours Wednesday, May 12, according to a CCFR spokeswoman.

The call came in at 10:52 a.m., reporting a Hummer was on fire at South Alabama Avenue and West Grover Cleveland Boulevard in Homosassa.

The occupant of the vehicle had just filled up gas cans at the Texaco Food Mart on West Grover Cleveland Boulevard, Marsh said. Engine 3 from Homosassa arrived on scene at 10:59, and the blaze extinguished at 11:09 a.m.

There was one injury, Marsh said, and the person refused transport against medical advice.

The Florida State Fire Marshal was on scene to conduct an investigation and Florida Department of Environmental Protection was notified and will coordinate cleanup of the fuel spill.

Fire crews cleared the scene at 1:36 p.m.

Official cause would need to be determined and confirmed by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.

We are, it is now very clear, a nation of idiots. That video, btw, looks to be dated 12/2019.

I felt very smug riding my bike to the grocery store yesterday and driving my electric car to work today.

Not to be...uh...crass...I guess? But, why is every picture of a gas hoarder just some frumpy human that looks like they subsist on McDonald's? Maybe, just maaaayybe - their gut biome has become so riddled with trash that their brain is now trash?

Idk just speculation - but a lot of dumb people eat dumb.

Pretty judgemental, no?

I'm far from being politically correct, but somethings are better left to oneself.

I admit it.

I drive big vehicles.

I eat bacon. I love bacon.

Lots of French Cheese and Irish butter.

I filled my cars and trucks up late Friday and early Saturday.

I call shenanigans on this one. What other way was he supposed to fell the tree? Street, neighbors yards? Guessing this house was a planned demolition and video staged for fun. Funny though.
