2nd Generation Red AXS - E1
A bit early for the *official* announcement, but a few leaks so far from overseas!
Example 1. Example 2. More as we collectively see it at 9am EST. https://www.sram.com/en/sram/road/series/red-axs Last edited by Zee; 05-15-2024 at 09:08 AM. |

It’s what I saw a month or so ago so yea. The new Karoo should be available too.

Going to a lot of new in the box karoo head units on marketplace in no time with almost zero value.

I hope so. I've played with one and rather liked it, so if I can pick it up for a fraction of the retail value I wouldn't mind that.

I put hands on the group yesterday evening and it's amazing. It's not just a minor update - the whole thing looks and feels new.. Design choices are excellent. It's beautiful. And even the new Zipp handlebars they released with it are great.

Ok those hoods look pretty pretty similar to old 10sp double tap shifters which are probably my favorite of all time from a comfort perspective. Like.
The progression in getting hydraulic/electronic shifters to be smaller and smaller is cool to see. |

I'm going to ask a question because I haven't been paying close attention. Forgive me if this is common knowledge. Is it true that SRAM no longer makes an electronic, rim brake group?

Just ran a weight comparison based off bikerumor to see if switching my 2020 Emonda disc over from mech Red 22 with Spyre calipers is worth the weight penalty.
In my mind, no. My current set up which has given me ZERO issues on long descents riding around the Blue Ridge Parkway and down Mount Mitchell is still 269 grams lighter than installing E1 AXS. Great looking groupo tho. |
