I just registered for the 30.
Looking forward to seeing old friends, riding new roads, and tipping a few brews together!

B Ride 30 miler sounds like a plan. I signed up for the A ride last fall but easy enough to switch. Especially if the A ride is two loops of the B loop. One trip up Manzo is already one trip up Manzo too many!

B-loop
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37582367 According to ridewithgps, the section that is unpaved runs 2.9 miles, the rest is paved. Does that sound right?

The data on this area is not correct. I’d say 75% not paved. |

They aren't all really roads. As AngryScientist would say, they "don't pass the Honda Civic test". |

I will be honest with you CNYpal, I am a roadie by heart, I only put up with this gravel BS because I get to ride with my pals. Anything that makes my hands numb, my butt hurts, speed up the process of needing dentures, and has the potential to put titanium screws in my body - I have a hard time calling it fun but again...i am only doing it because of cow bells. See you in October!

The New Lisbon / Butternut Valley Gravel Grinder is (IMO) one of the best gravel ROAD rides. The roads are some of the nicest gravel in the northeast. I understand even the infamous Manzo has been graded/smoothed by the local highway department. And as CNY rider noted, the majority of the route is unpaved. This isn’t a mountain bike ride masquerading as gravel, it’s a road ride that happens to take place on dirt roads. In upstate NY, we natives call them dirt roads. Whatever you want to call them, I’m willing to bet you’ll like the unpaved roads in the New Lisbon area.

No gravel event is complete without discussing about tire choices...
![]() In today's world of so many great options, I will be using the venerable O' faithful Xplor MSO 40...

I am hoping to make it but I can't commit 110% just yet.

I like anything from 35-42 mm for the dirt roads around here. I've seen it done on lesser tires but it's not for me. |

I'll include you when I send out the final full details for all the rides in a week or two.
