New Vendor in town-Chisholm's Custom Wheels

Sold my shop(Vecchio's) about 15 months ago. Of the 'bike biz', I miss the 'biz' not at all but I miss the 'bike' a lot.

Learned to build wheels in 1985. Mike Howard in Colley Ave bike shop. Something I really enjoy. Built something north of 4500 wheels.

Look for an AD of sorts in classifieds.

Hubs by DT, Campagnolo, Shimano, Miche
Rims by DT, H+Son, Velocity, Mavic(CXP-33)
Sapim spokes

Most are ala cart. No real packages but

"Conventional Wheels built Exceptionality Well"

Email, let me know what you are looking for and we'll grok.

If you want to send me hubs and rims, for me to build, that's ok too.

Thanks Peter Chisholm

Great to hear. Good luck with the new venture. I am sure you build some incredible wheels and I would not hesitate to send you business.

The world needs more gentlemen like Peter, but not more than the bicycle world.

Update:

The wheels Peter built me are perfect. I rode them yesterday in the rain and they performed flawlessly. A definite upgrade over and exactly what I wanted.

Peter was also less expensive than my LBS and the turnaround time was super quick. Highly recommended.

Thanks Peter!

Wheels. OP put together some winners for me. 32h Record to DTSwiss 440s. 3 cross front and rear, natch.

I had the hubs, he supplied the rest and they are light and tight. Great communication, quick turn around, good choice of shippers (Bikeflights).

Would recommend.

Wheels from a master

After gathering advice and opinions here and elsewhere re: upgrading from my venerable but narrow and heavy Campy 9/Open Pros, I took the plunge. I wanted a strong, wider wheel to use on- and off-road, for my S+S do-it-all bike. Man o man am I thankful I was steered to Old Potatoe.

El Viejo Patata built me an absolutely killer set of wheels off a pair of Tune Mag hubs I sent him: he first serviced the (very dry) hubs, then advised me on rim choice (thank you! I would've chosen wrong), and we ended up going with H Plus Son Archetypes laced 2x up front, 3x in back. Turnaround from sending the hubs to him, to the wheels arriving on my office's doorstep was about 10 days total. They're incredible to behold. More importantly, they are the truest wheels I've ever mounted up. My brake shoes have never been set so close to the rim. And geez Louise do the perform. Climbing, sprinting, and just flat out spinning is noticably .... different. Wow.

Probably a dumb question but are you able to build 650b wheel sets?

Hi Peter, I live in Denver and have come across mention of you rebuilding levers. I have some 9 spd Record levers that are slipping and would love to connect about a rebuild. My email is my user name: mattdiano at yahoo. Looking forward to hearing from you!
