The very first 20th Anniversary mid-build. This one still needs its rear end added to its front and then it will head to JB's for some Legnano Green candy green goodness.

Gorgeous as always, it is a shame to cover those fillets in paint

Are you asking about the rings around the ends of the head tube? If so they aren't extensions...they are simply reinforcing rings that beef up the head tube where the headset presses in. dave |

If socks can save 8W, how much do Gothic fillets save? Gotta be a lot

After many diversions and distractions over the past few weeks it feels very good to put this very first 20th Anniversary bike (serial number 20.1) into a box and get it off to JB for paint.
Time for a ride and a beer and then back to the bench...... dave |

There's not enough like buttons, anywhere, to express my appreciation of these bikes, or for that matter, any of Dave's work!

I'm back on the bike after life took me away from it and I'm enjoying the journey back to riding fitness. It's also rekindled my interest in bike forums and bike builders. I came across the photos above and yes, stainless steel frames are still a draw for me. A few questions if I may... what size is the frame in the pictures above? I'm short (5" 3") and that looks to be a small size frame. I like the level top tube and believe that straight rear seat stays like in the photos would be sufficient with the current wide rim/tires. I noticed on your site that you made a blue traditional steel bike with a steel fork and disc brakes. Can a Onesto be bought with a stainless steel fork and hydraulic disk brakes for spirited road riding only (I don't go off road/gravel ride)? I would imagine doing internal routing of the lines in the fork would be hard to do, but would look better if possible. I appreciate hand made things, especially when done to such a high level. Happy to see so many builders are continuing to find an audience out there. Thank you for your time. |
