VW has it slated as a EV for 2022. E-Samba name has been trademarked.
Maybe the ID7 "e-Samba".

Rumor has it that VW is behind in the ID program, and also expect near six figure msrp.... that's the latest i've heard.

100 thousand bucks? sells are going to be rough for it, specially because at that price tag just to start they compete with tesla.

i say it's very cool and a great concept.

the price will tell the tale though. it will be a complete joke if, as above the thing sells for like 90 grand and is marketed at the happy-go-lucky surfer/drifter crowd, or at least marketed towards those who wish they could be the surfer/drifter type.

Surfer drifter type that can pay 90k+? the only one that comes to mind is jeff bridges

it will probably never make it to the US.

At the current vangon prices though, this will be priced similar to 30 year vehicles.

If I were going for an electric vehicle, I'd take a Rivian R1S before this bus.

I do like the grinning face that the lights and grill make, though. That bus looks quite contented.

Start building something, what's available in the Audi/VW line now, just one fancy SUV for like 80k. They've been talking about it for years.

Although not sexy, my daughter just got new Prius, to replace a 14 year old one which served us very well.

But those 'surfer dudes' are now venture capitalists that make 6-7 figures per year. All the other makers are making the same old, boring e-car(Pius anyone). Even Tesla, even tho WAY expensive, is nothing really special.'Maybe' their truck will be BUT..VW, like the VW New Beetle, is going to own this retro market. Other makers will follow suit and VW will sell everyone of these they make.

Funny, when VW made the New Beetle in 1999(?), the nay sayers said the same things..
