OT: where can I camp inside my car in South Oregon coast or N CA near redwoods?

I’m driving down from Washington in my land cruiser with my girlfriend and dog and I’m not sure where would be a good place to camp in the car (hopefully near a bathroom?). I want to camp near enough to the redwoods that I can reach them within a short drive on Saturday morning.

I know this is random but in figured I’d throw it out there.

Jedediah Smith State Park near Crescent city is very nice. If you Google “Redwood Highway campgrounds” you may also get some good information.

A few years ago, we camped at a State Park North of Eureka called Humboldt Lagoons. Great place with wonderful scenery and Redwoods all around it. Plenty of camping options there.

Also in the vicinity is Del Norte state park.
Curious: Are you driving through the area, or just from Seattle and then returning back north? Either way, the area is stunning and being a native Californian, redwood grows are one of my favorite places to be.
Fair warning: It will be cold and wet. Some of the campgrounds may be closed for the winter. Not sure about which ones. You may want to do your research.

I’m driving from Eastern WA across to the coast then down the coast. So far I haven’t had much luck figuring out what’s closed or open or what I need to make a reservation for. I was looking at Jedediah though which is in a good location.

Download the iOverlander app on your phone.

Its been our go-to app for the past year on the road.
In one 1 year, we've paid to camp...4 nights.

Plenty of spots in that area...just a matter of knowing where to look

I once camped (in a small RV) at the Albee Creek Campground in Humboldt, it was great. Small quiet spot right near the Avenue of the Giants. Not sure if it has any seasonal restrictions.
