I prefer them over assos which is an understatement. They are my favorite bib.

I am using several of the Q36.5 "L1" pieces (ie.vest/bibs/jerseys etc.). Pretty nice; could be improved.

I have not tried the Gregarious model bib but would say give 'em a try if the price is attractive.

Been in Assos since 2002 and would not say they had been 'eclipsed' or anything.

I'm curious about the Q36.5 but can't make any sense of the naming conventions - anyone have a cheat sheet for the different models?

Yes- they have spendy, expensive, and "holy $h*t!".

When I bought mine last year they only had two, or maybe three models and they explained how they differed. Now they have updated, possibly over-designed versions where they only describe the updates, plus some new versions. I guess it's all about product "life cycle"
The gregarious were sort of the traditional fitting shorts-not hammock style like the Assos S7. FWIW I like both these shorts, though I prefer the gragarious. The fit of the various models and comparisons with Assos was described in excruciating detail by others in a lengthy thread last year. I found those descriptions to be spot-on, regarding the gragarious at least-the compression and comparison with Assos. My recollection is that the Dottore were significantly different. The material is not a standard lycra and is less stretchy. Even more compression. You can sort of see it in close ups.

Edit: I guess it was two plus years ago. https://forums.thepaceline.net/showt...ighlight=Q36.5

The Q36.5 looks very well considered but oh so pricey, wow. I've been in Assos as well for a decade. An aspect of Assos which appeals to me is that the fabric doesn't wear out or become "translucent" like , say, castelli or PI, or their ilk. The color can fade over years, but not wear through. I like both the comfort and the value proposition.

I am in to try the Q. Looking at GREGARIUS ULTRA BIB SHORTS. I wear a large in Assos since I am tall but lanky so I am guessing the Q sizing would be the same. As they say, size up for Euro kit. Anyone have this model and opinions on sizing?

I think you are good with a large if you are a large in Assos. I’m a medium in Assos and Q.

Wouldn’t it all depend on what line of Assos you’re talking about?
I did a Large in F1 UNO S5 but had to step up to the Mille line in S7 to fit in a Large.

Sounds plausible. I am a large in Assos T Equipe Evo. I checked some of my other kit like Castelli Endurance, Velocissimo and those are large. I have found what I want in my size so the cash will flow.
