King Ti cages

How many of you are going to upgrade to the Silca titanium ones? Because, you know, the Silca ones are better and more bespoke.

I saw that email earlier today. What's the over/under on price/per?

PS: love the thread title, seriously.

Wow, they are really trying to eat King Cage's lunch.
That said, King Iris Cages are the best anyway so I'll stick with them.

I like how the silca cages allow you about a cm of height adjustment. I am guessing $72.

I had some King's, and some Minoura's that came on a bike I bought used. The Minoura's are lighter and every bit as nice as King's.

These days I'm more concerned with pounds on me than grams on my bottle cages.

That being said, other than the above mentioned Minoura's, all my bikes have King SS or Nitto Race (which are heavier than they look, but looks are important).

PS -- Got the Silca email, but knew better than to open it.

If you went to NAHBS and the King booth, and watched the terrific demonstration of bending and building a cage..... well, that was a treat. And instructive.

I really like a lot of Silca products, but they can’t be expected to triumph on all fronts. There are King cages on my Ti bikes, and they are terrific. Maybe there is enough room in the market for a few really good vendors, though. My ti cages are happily King, nonetheless. But Silca can inflate my tires very nicely.

I’ve a set of the king Ti on both my road bikes and can’t imagine any sort of improvement that would be worth springing for. I’ve never lost a bottle and the King aren’t heavy so ...? This said, they do look sexxxy and I’m a sucker for bling so who knows.

I think you are far to optimistic...My guess is MSRP is $125 per cage, and available right around $100...

We are talking about the same Silca that charges $125 for some allen keys with rubber on the sides right?

I have Kings on every bike, they’re the best. The only appeal to the Silca I can see is the slotted hole might make for a better fit on my wife’s bike. If they cost more than a King, though, I’ll get out a file and a beer.

I was thinking about 30-40% more than the King, which is $50 at Arts cyclery.
