Yep, I bought that Look! And I've always wanted to try a Merckx SC, but sounds like I jumped ahead in the line. I ended up selling that Look, and moved on to a 585 Optimum with a little taller HT. Great riding bikes!

Clean, you owe it to yourself to ride this bike a lot and hard before letting it go, should you decide to. Not sure where it feels small to you, but it looks like you have a few fit options there (raise and/or lengthen stem, etc).

PS. Pic of first Look I owned, a 481SL from the time period in question. Went on to 585 after this one.

Yes, nice. A friend of mine(who lurks here sometimes) had a Fassa Bortolo Magnesium dog that was Roberto Petito's race bike. He also had Juan Antonio Flecha's Rabobank Colnago C50, and sold them both for a Specialized Sworks something.

Pinarello had good distribution for some time here and we could check all their top end models. The same guy would distribute campagnolo. Prices were lower than in the US. He had a bad temper and we would put up w/ him because he had all the good stuff in his shop.
That´s how i ended w/ a pinarello built w/ campagnolo: bought at the bike shop. Not on line.
The high end frames were really loud visually. On top on those onda forks and stays the frames were painted in the most striking and garish schemes. Magenta, silver, black and white.
I knew the bikes were good though. I wanted the opera: steel and carbon.
There were not so many high end wheels as we have today.

90 or 91 Pinarello Montello

With fresh paint and decals, color stolen from Bianchi, set up with Athena and Chorus 11, and the elegant Gran Compe NGC 450 centerpull brakes with proprietary unobtainium brake shoes. Ride this bike most of my three

Did you do this to laugh at the world like the Joker?? A Montello painted like a Bianchi?

The one in the back is my Russ Denny built Masi 3V. The sweetest bike I have ever ridden.

I have a 1990 Dolomite that's also painted in a color that's very near celeste with dark blue decals - just like Bianchis of the period.

Here's the catalog page from 2000 showing the Road Logic in yellow and Excel paint with the threadless fork. Only $1775 complete with 6500, Ritchey cockpit and tires, Open Pros. Even though I like the cobalt blue, I've always wished mine was yellow.

I looked at that particular page in that catalog until it Had become all faded and torn. That is awesome that you still have that. I recently saw the excel sports asian model guy, and he has not aged at all, just a little more grey on top.

Sweet find!

I’m not a yellow fan, but I dig the idea of a threadless steel fork.

You were also right on the curved stays. That was the frame I was thinking of. I think they look great.

In 15 years of searching, I have only seen a handful of Ritchey Chicanes. The most beautiful ones are the Silver to cobalt fades.

Anyone (not just team members) could order one with the team paint, so there are surely some out there that are threadless and black.

The Swiss Cross also had curved stays, threadless fork, red paint circa 2000.
