Considering Kansas and Duke, the two crown jewels of NCAA BBall, have already announced that all sports are shut down the cancellation is inevitable.

But yeah, death to the NCAA. Long live athletes.

Some of the conference championships are cancelled. So far as I know, as of writing this, the NCAA tournament is still on (in theory). Playing to empty stadiums. Gotta keep that TV broadcast money coming in.

As noted above, some teams may unilaterally cancel their involvement which might precipitate the cancellation.

Even MLB, that plays outside has now suspended operations.

+1000 to this. Never been a big fan of the handshake.

Real risk is low. That is a crazy cheap flight! Follow basic precautions and you are good to go.

This is the last day of spring break at the university where I teach, and all instruction will be online for the next 3 weeks at a minimum. Still no reported cases in Jacksonville/Duval County, but I'm sure that's only a matter of time. TPC golf tournament is still going on, and people are attending, but they have offered refunds to individuals who are understandably reluctant to attend.

I don't remember if I posted this in the other thread but if you are still making jokes about it, like I was too, this puts it into perspective.

I think you need an FB account to read:

Just pretend to sneeze into your hand as you approach a group. You won't be offered a handshake.

Here today all the way to march 20th there's no classes in my county. I believe they are giving the teachers and the school system time to prepare for online classes. We have like 6 cases here in this area so they are just waiting to see if a cases shows up in the schools, which in my opinion will show sooner or later.

Good thing i been working for 3 years and I have a chunk of sick hours, some guys going to have some problems if we go out for a month.

Fizik newsletter:

This is not your normal fizik newsletter
Today we won’t talk about new products or projects, or which fizik rider won last weekend's race.
Soon we hope to return to our traditional communication, but today we want to talk about serious responsibilities we all share.

It’s time to be aware.
It’s time to reflect on the rhythm of life, as right now some of us are not able to live life fully.
It’s time to be responsible to ourselves and to others.
Many will be asked to make sacrifices, even sacrifices for the sport we love.
Like we are used to riding in a group - we must work together.
Now is the time to act as a community during this global crisis.
Cyclist's and fizik fans alike, let’s face this critical moment responsibly and take our cycling behavior seriously.

When this period is over and we return to supporting our athletes and experiencing even more magnificent adventures together, stronger than before, we will know that these gestures we took, which may have seemed small at the time, were really worth the effort.

So we ask everyone to follow their local health ordinances – and stay strong!

The normal wash hands more regularly and thoroughly, practice social distancing (he takes public transit), don't return to his norm after a day or so, etc... Things parents have probably dealt with for years by this age, but my wife and I didn't have kids so this live in nephew experience has been an eye opener.

Parenting is just like trying to get a car out of ditch with a rope by pushing on the rope, not like pulling a car out of ditch by pulling on the rope. Sit him down and make you expectations crystal clear then expect to remind him of the same expectations over and over and over and over and......
