Saw that on FB as well with a few more details and pics. Apparently the paint is not UV protected (pretty obvious, since it requires light to change colors) and will need to be repainted eventually, but still a great price for an amazing frame.

Tesch 57cm Model 100 80's Custom Steel Road Bike Campagnolo RARE - $1,650
Tesch 57cm Model 100 80's Custom Steel Road Bike Campagnolo RARE - $1,650
https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/bid...220761168.html Starting with Trek in the 1970's and then moving to Masi before starting his own frame company, David Tesch was one of the country's most renowned custom frame builders. This is one of his earliest models under his own brand, the Model 100. It features and ultra tight race geo for super nimble handling and a beautiful lugged construction featuring a Columbus SL/SP tube combo and Campagnolo dropouts. This specific bike is a 57cm (see geometry below). Its built up with Campagnolo Super Record Strada cranks and derailleurs, Modolo carbon shifters, Modolo brakes, and Campagnolo Record to Ambrosio Montreal wheelset. The frame has some wear and marks, most notable scratches on the chainstay behind the crank and some chips on the top tube. The components have some normal wear as well, and one derailleur pulley does have a crack, so the bike would need lubed/serviced before ridden. The tires are also pretty worn and only the front holds air. All and all an extremely rare bike that would make a great addition to any collection! Come see this bike at Ben's Cycle (1013 W Lincoln Ave). Call (414) three eight four-2274 with questions. |

Vintage Assenmacher Road Bike Touring Frame 59cmCampagnolo Cinelli - $500
Vintage Assenmacher Road Bike Touring Frame Campagnolo Cinelli - $500
https://denver.craigslist.org/bop/d/...216403206.html Up for grabs is a very rare Assenmacher road bike touring frame. If you have never heard of these custom built frames here is a little history. Matt Assenmacher, founded Assenmacher Lightweight Cycles in Mt. Pleasant Michigan in 1973. The Company was originally founded as a small custom bicycle shop utilizing the skills and technology learned while apprenticed in Leeds, England under the tutelage of Dan Foster at Bob Jackson Cycles Ltd. Using and refining these skills the company built a national reputation for solid quality designs and craftsmanship. In 1978 The company moved to Swartz Creek, Michigan and opened a full service retail bicycle shop. In addition to the Assenmacher brand of custom bicycles the store sold other nationally known brands such as Schwinn and Trek.. There are now three Assenmacher Cycling Centers in the Flint, Michigan area catering to the cycling needs of serious enthusiasts as well as the more modest needs of the general population. A life long cyclist and cycling advocate Matt Assenmacher still designs, builds, repairs and paints custom frames in the Swartz Creek store. His custom bicycle frame designs have won numerous local, state, regional, and national events. In addition Michael Secrest of Flint, Michigan set a world 24 hour record on an Assenmacher Bicycle. This frame starts with classic Reynolds 531 tubing. There is a Cinelli stamp on the bottom of the bottom bracket so I think the lugs were possibly made by Cinelli in Italy and all of the drop outs are Campagnolo. The down tube is very unique in that it has two water bottle cages on the top side and one on the bottom. There are both front and rear rack mounts and all of the drop outs are Campagnolo. The frame measures 59cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the top tube and 60cm from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube. The top tube measures 57cm center to center and the head tube is 16.8cm long. It will take a 125mm rear wheel and 100mm front. The seat post size is 27.2 and it takes an English threaded bottom bracket. The frame and fork together weigh 7 pounds 7 ounces. Overall it is in good condition but it is used and shows normal scruff and scratches for it age. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will do my best to get you the answers. |
