OT - Corvette Z06 Release Video

For the automotive fans that may not have seen this, the reveal for the new Z06 was just released. Nicely done video. The car looks/sounds incredible!

-How many cuts do you want?
-Yes
-Ok

Unwatchable but I saw it was almost 30 minutes long which is also incredibly expensive and I bet their viewership drops off drastically after the first 60 seconds.

Got an email yesterday from Ciocca Corvette (Kerbeck successor) that on 12noon November 2 reserve list will be opened for Z06 as separate list from standard C8. I think Chevrolet has done a horrible job promoting the C8 by allowing dealers to charge $20k over MSRP for in stock vehicles. kind of turned me off on the whole C8.

I have driven my bosses corvettes over the years. Often in for service as they are far from bulletproof. My fave was a modified Calloway that was 650 hp new. He did ECU, altered supercharger teeth, headers, intake and more. It produced 800 plus to the rear wheels. Sick and very hard to keep straight

I had a C5 Z06 that never needed any work on it. It was butt fast but felt heavy and not fun to drive after the Miata. Also not that well put together.

Tesla= Silent, 0 to 60mph in 2.3s, Corvette killer. ICE are on there last leg, they should have put their time and energy in electric.

Anyone that actually likes driving could care less about 0-60.

I like electric cars but this is the end for ICE cars and I like that they went with the most power a NA engine has ever produced on a production car. I can’t say I love the new corvette but this is a nice good bye. The current vette is pretty much impossible to get and this one will too so not surprised gm is not putting all their energy in electric just yet.

I don’t want to go into a electric vs ice battle here please. Some still like engine noise, manual transmissions (shame this z06 doesnt have it) and other things only ICE cars will give you. One day we will learn to love electric cars but for now, lets enjoy the end of this era.

This! These guys reworked the exhaust system at the 11th hour to get some noise back into the cabin! And that motor sounds remarkable at high revs...
