This is actually kind of a good thing, yeah? Dorel historically made... baby furniture? PON will likely be a better steward of whatever remains of Cannondale.

Pretty surprised to see the purchase price for Cannondale. $800mil? Seems low.

Wonder if Cannondale can kick some ass

as I am thinking price of entry to be a dealer must be way way less than Spec and Trek. More market coverage more better?

I don't know enough about the road side to comment, but they've built an amazing World Cup DH team (albeit on Commencal bikes w/ DorvalAM and Martin Maes on GT for EWS, although rumors are he's moving to Orbea next season).

Would love to see Cannondale get back in to the MTB side of things again!

Getting down to a battle between the privately owned (terk/special) and those with shareholders

This should be interesting

The winner gets to sell D2C....at a 10% loss

This is all about ebikes, and the direct sales war that’s coming. They said as much in the press release.

Interesting. The consolidation continues.

In 3 - 5 years they'll implode too. Always does.

800 million was for all of Dorel's bike business. But you never know what the P&L looks like of a company like this from the outside. It was a pretty reasonable deal for everyone involved, otherwise it wouldn't have happened.

It is interesting that just a few months ago Dorel tried to go private unsuccessfully. Would be interesting to know the story line between the two events.

So ...who is going to be responsible for correctly installing the front wheel on the aforementioned POS?

Most of these consumers will struggle to put air in the tires and get the seat pointed in the right direction

Therein lies the problem
