Is there a list of stem mfgs ?
I am looking for better quality black minimal logo metal 31.8 x 110 x 17d stem
Off the top a beyond black zipp service course SL or a ritchey blatte would be fine but wanted to remind myself of other choices. Is there someplace that lists all the stem mfgs? or seat posts? If not, I was just going to go to the usual suspect online retail sites and see which mfgs they offer. |

Thomson X2 looks good as 17º. With a torque wrench and carbon paste you'll have neither the faceplate cracking or bar slipping that many netizens report. (Sorry about the Garmin mount on the pic)
For a lower budget, the Kalloy Uno is a great choice. Super light (like 110g, I think) and easily stealthed. The shape of the Ritchey stem is weird as 17º: Zipp is probably the nicest looking, and has a great matching seatpost: Last edited by jtbadge; 04-17-2019 at 02:36 PM. |

There aren't that many -17d, 110m stems out there. I'm looking for one too and haven't come across anything nicer than the Zipp. There's Thomson, Easton, Ritchey, 3T, Dimension, that might be it.

Kalloy Uno, full stop. $/gram value is pretty much impossible to beat.
Logos can be removed with nail polish remover and some elbow grease. Easily lightened with an inexpensive Ti bolt kit. |

The Kalloy looks pretty, although i guess the design is a ripoff of the Syntace F99 etc. line which apparently isn't produced any more. A pity, i like them a lot.
Tune still does its "Geiles Teil" in -17/31.8 it seems. It never was pretty, but its very tough. What about the italians, Deda, Cinelli, WR Compositi etc?

I have the Kalloy on my open. Its actually a pretty great stem for $20. I put some TI bolts on it and its like 100g for a 110mm. No logos which is nice.
I also like how the face plate works, you tight the top bolts then the bottom and thats it, no X pattern or anything like that. For the price, can't be beaten imo. |

I've been rocking a Thomson X2 on my gravel bike for two years. I'm a fatass and many of the gravel roads I ride are closer to single track than a road.

Fairwheel Bikes sells de-badged Kalloy Unos to save you some elbow-grease if you want it stealthed-out.

Once I found Kalloy Uno on ebay for $20, I haven't bought another stem. Logos removed in 5 min with nail polish remover.

Fairwheel bikes does a no logo version of the Kalloy and has a black to bolt option. Even with Ti bolts it’s 60 bucks and a better value than many high end stems. I’ve put thousands of miles on the 20 dollar eBay version and think they’re about perfect for my needs.
