Experience with Seven Ti Seatpost
Anybody using the Seven seatpost? https://www.sevencycles.com/accessories/seatposts.php
Looks a bit complicated but perhaps it works well. A bit spendy. Thanks Last edited by GPrince; 04-17-2019 at 02:04 PM. |

The clamp design looks very much like the one on my stock seatpost on my 1996 Schwinn MTB.
Dial/ bolt on the front and allen bolt on the back. It works fine. |

Looks nice but I question the use of the words “easily adjustable dial.” A number of posts I’ve owned have these and they either don’t work well or are just difficult to access when stuck under a seat. I think I’d rather play games by trial and error of adjustment with two bolts rather than trying to dial-in one of these.

I had a Zoom seatpost, late 90's-early 00's on a C'dale Mtn bike, that had a similar design with a plastic dial I think. It wasn't horrible to set up, not "easy adjust" either, having had one of similar design I'd much rather have a 2 bolt post.

Complicated? That's less complicated (and easier to use) than the "classic" seatposts of old, like the Campagnolo Nuovo Record:
I've got a Titec seatpost with a clamp nearly identical to the Seven Cycles, and it is very easy to adjust. |

Nuovo record post
Personally I love that nuovo record post, once its set up, that is. You need a long box end wrench, and it's truly a pain, but once done it never moves. The super record post, and the Campy Ti post with the same design, can slip over time or a big bump and you can break the clamp by overtightening (speaking from experience).
I'd be using the Seven post on a gravel bike so it needs to be rock solid. |

The Nuovo Record, Seven Cycles, and Titec clamps all work on the same principle - two bolts clamping a rotating cradle. The Seven Cycles and Titec merely replace the front bolt with a threaded shaft and a nut (which is oversized and serrated so it can be adjusted without a tool), and reverses the rear bolt so it can be reached from the bottom instead of the top. The Titec has been as rock solid as my old Nuovo Record was, and it stands to reason that the Seven Cycles should be similarly solid.

Looks very similar to the Deda Superleggerra (and perhaps others). Easy peasy!

The Seven mechanism looks a lot like the Fizik Cyrano posts. Works pretty nicely to dial in the angle with the little wheel and then torque down the rails with the hex bolt.
