I actually held a pair of these shoes today and they're pretty incredible. I've never seen a shoe with the amount of venting the EXOS has which is key in hot and humid Florida. With that said, I'll be waiting for the tech to trickle down into a more affordable shoe before considering buying a pair.

What other kinds of cycling things that when you look at them makes you wonder...gee...thats a lot of pesos?
My perception of cycling in my early years was that it was a sport for the affluent. Not sure where that came from. And it doesn't seem like high net worth individuals really gravitate towards it. But, the top 5 customers at my LBS spend around 250K yearly. I think that's a lot. The 5 guys I've seen riding a Firefly were wearing Rapha and s-works shoes. I see about one Firefly yearly but I'm convinced it's a luxury product. The guys on these bikes were Industry types who want to impress and yet they wear Specialized shoes. I guess the bigger question is when Specialized will realize they need a Lexus or even an Acura imprint. A $5000 Specialized shoe would still be a cheesy product from Specialized.

It's called S-Works.

BTW, the shoes are $100 more expensive than their regular road shoes, and save 148g over those. So not a bad ROI if you're gram counting.

I've ordered a pair of these. I want a) a more midfoot cleat position and b) length adjustability.

And they're "only" $150.
