heh, I have some Teledyne crank bolts, which likely means they are CP Ti, i.e. chewing gum. They advised that you should tighten the cranks with steel bolts first.

I can speak to the Ti bolts Moots sells. While I was there I sourced those from Taiwan through our distributor and good customer and resident and had them independently tested. They are 6/4 and tested out very well. In my experience 6/4 bolts test out stronger and less likely to round out etc than most readily available stainless bolts.
At Moots we sourced zinc plated hardened steel bolts as the stock bolts and sold all RSL labeled products with the 6/4 bolts. On any Ti to Ti bolt interfaces we installed stainless washers as this made tightening to the proper torque spec possible. Also using "Ti prep" antisieze with any Ti to Ti threads as standard procedure. Never saw a problem with them while I was there. |

LOL! I can't imagine a need for a TI bolt, of course you can lose more weight in currency spent than the bolt weighs so that may be a benefit.
