Dura-Ace 7800 Crank with 7900 chain...skating?

Hi,
I'm running a 7800 drivechain but changed out my chain for a 7900 version at the beginning of the season. Overall, the chain has been great.

Only one minor issue - every once in a while, if I'm in the 14/15 or 16 cog and I shift from my big ring to my small ring the chain skates between the two rings.

Has anyone else experienced this? Are there compatibility issues I should be aware off?

I run that set up and have no issues. Only time I ever did was when I was running 9 or 10 speed gears and chain on 8 speed cranks and 8 speed front derailleur.

That said, I could adjust it out, but it was a touchy adjustment. I think your problem is an adjustment issue.

Did you flip the chain? The new Shimano chains are directional.

Old post but you guys will laugh at root cause of my issue: my front ring (39 tooth) was on backwards. Embarassed, yes.
