Yeah it sustained really bad damage from Ida, I highly doubt it will be open for the next few months, but you can go right up 9W.

If you have wide feet you don’t want Fizik X5 Terra. They’re narrow like Sidi, because… Italian. But I thought I’d mention them for others as they are light, versatile, and not crazy expensive. I use them for road (light), gravel (walkable, a bit, wouldn’t do hikes in them), and cyclocross (lugged, takes toe cleats). Plus Boa lacing is nice; hope it lasts. Bought them for gravel as I was leery of crunching around on rocks in carbon soled, high zoot shoes like Shimano RX8. So, if Sidis suit you, you might give these a look see.

Cool. I recently bought a pair of X5 Terra, but haven't even put the cleats on yet (still working on the bike). I bought them for dirt/casual rides, they're more walkable than SPD-SL, I have a pair of their road shoes that I like, and they're relatively inexpensive.

I've preferred the Sidi Dominator in their Mega width for such usage for at least 15 years now.
The shoes have the style I've preferred and last a very long time. Since mine have all been opportunistic purchases, I've used three subtly different size/width combinations and still found them most comfortable. |

Sidi Drako for me. But yes, find the mtb race shoe in the lineup - pretty much no difference from a road shoe, other than you can walk in them.

Light SPD (2-bolt) road shoes? Suggestions?
For the weight and desired sleakness of a road shoe I would say the Shimano RX8 is about the lightest I’ve seen.
I have a pair of Fizik Vento Overcurve X3 in white for the same reasons as getting close to road shoes. Very comfortable, not real chunky and quite a good looking shoe IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
