Astana....still races

It looks as though they're safe for the moment...

Quote:
On the initiative of the Licence Commission, ISSUL were asked to propose special measures which the Team will be obliged to put in place at specific times over the rest of this season.

The team committed to respecting all the measures recommended by ISSUL.

At the end of the hearing, the Licence Commission announced the suspension of the proceedings.

In the meantime, the registration for the 2015 season remains in force. However, the Team’s licence is subject to strict monitoring of the conditions laid down. This monitoring will be carried out on the basis of reports transmitted by ISSUL to the Licence Commission.

It's easier to just not renew them next year.
They would have appealed to CAS and it would have been tied up in legal proceedings and nothing would have changed anyway.

I would bet that if they had proceeded with action against Astana, ASO would have kept them out of the Tour, and would have been within their rights to do so. That would have made a statement.

Just seems like more of the same.

As we all know, or should know.... Nobody actually cares about doping. They only care about appearances, and only to the degree that appearances cost or profit.

Cookson is too worried about Lance doing a charity ride to deal with Astana or the team that is well known for having a teamwide program to lose weight with cortisone.

This. Cookson came in with a unique opportunity, which he has carefully wasted doing trivial stuff instead.

This is ALL pro sports and some amateur as well. Pro sports is simply part of the entertainment industry.

No surprise here, most of us saw this coming when it was announced. The expected suitcase of money from Kazakhstan finally arrived.

He calls it likes he sees it..then 'somebody' reminds him about his future in the peloton.

100% correct. It's entertainment, that's all!

That would be a funny libel case. The best defense to an accusation of libel is that the statement is truthful, so it could backfire on Aru if he has some bio passport "irregularities."

UCI's doping policy is simple: Please don't get caught!

Astana's license issue is not under Cookson's authority - Cookson doesn't control the UCI licensing commission.
