The female role, she didn't do it for me and I dunno how I feel about Fields' death as it was too much Goldfinger meets OPEC; I need to see it again and I will. Bond's job for the Quantum of Solace mission was a sequel, we had a strong hunch of the sequence of events...imagine seeing it without having seen Casino Royale (as my friend's girlfriend did)? It was a great stand-alone movie, but sequels are tough to pull off. So now, now we'll see what the next mission is and just what Bond has up his sleeve.
My friend mentioned that Quantum lacked some Bond one-liners, it's important to keep Bond witty.

they are trying to appeal to the younger vid game generation who are used to fast action and cutting. old die hards are not going to buy it that easy and I suspect they are leaving strong females out to build him up some more. fields was working for me on some level, too bad about the oil! watch how good I am - your favorite bond was From Russia with Love & i also bet you loved dr no and thunderball.
